Ha Kira I've said it before on here but my friends baby only ever went nuts when she had Glee on at full volume! They must love music.
Lol does anyone remember that song "doop"? My son used to go mad whenever I played that. Even bought the single so he could have a good kick. Awful song tho:eek::happyloveBaby girl born 27/2/12:happylove

Welcome Lucy !!
Its so funny reading about what the bubs musical tastes are!! So maybe there is hope that it wont be a boring mozart cd or something later on !!
Have been having 'wild' dreams again its wearing me out :rotfl:my fave so far is spending £67 pounds in a fancy chocolate shop  dont remember eating it all though
Suffering with dropsy this morning probably because had not eaten my toast, I decided to put some bread on in the breadmaker and promptly dropped the electronic scale in to the full washing up bowl  now they are caput and then knocked a whole tub of expensive salad on the floor from the fridge  not sure how the bread is going to turn out now with my guestimates !!!!!
Have Dylan (mums pup) today so we are going to take him to the park with a new lead, its a bit special its 15 metres long !!!!!!! Now lets see what he can do with it, how many trees do you think he can wrap himself round:D hubby denies that he is excited but he has dug out the tennis balls!!! he loves Dylan really.
Hope you all enjoy your day

Hi Ladies,
Not posted in a while, been so poorly. I'm now at 14+3 so why do I feel worse than ever?! Been sick at least 5 times a day for the last 2 weeks, I'm feeling so down about it. The midwife came out yesterday to take blood and check me over. I've lost weight since my first booking app 7 weeks ago. I was 8.5 stone then, I now weigh just under 8 stone! She said its nothing to worry about, but I am worried! The midwife said most ladies stop being sick around 16 weeks, so fingers crossed for me!
Some good news, me and hubby bought a pram and car seat yesterday, see link here
http://www.silvercross.co.uk/prams-and-travel-systems/3d-classic-pram-system/
We got the red pram with matching car seat. The lady at Baby R Us was so helpful and showed us all the features and how it works. We got it home yesterday and had a go and it seems quite straight forward. I keep pushing around my dining room - how sad!!
I've also started buying clothes everytime I go shopping to Sainsbury's, can I ask you ladies, do you wash them first before baby wears them? I was going to but my husband said it seems a waste of time as they are new!
I hope everybody else is feeling ok and enjoying this pleasant weather!

Yes.. the fabric is treated with all sorts of rubbish and starched so it looks nice on hangers and in packaging. It has been made in factories with mice and worse.. it have been woven and sewn by machines which have oils and dirt and all nature of filth on them.. and if they are bought from the racks in shops how many people have touched them with dirty hands or after using the toilet.
New clothes are probably dirtier than they will ever be while you are using them!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

That looks like a lovely pram Jannine. I get very jealous when people post about their new prams as mine is 2nd hand, but it was a donation from my sister and it would be a waste of money to buy a new one when I could save it for maternity leave funds. I bought myself a new Mamas and Papas blanket to match the pram today though and love it so much that I'm sitting with it on my tummy now :rotfl: It will be worn threadbare by the time baby arrives :rotfl:
I'm with PP on the clothes washing before wearing them, I don't always with new clothes for me, but I'll be washing everything for baby before using it because of the chemicals on the fabric. I had read it on a baby website somewhere ......
Jenjade, you sound like you got some good bargains at the carboot. I really must get myself along to some!0 -
Hey everyone
Kira - how great that your friends will be on mat leave with you. Play dates will be easy for you
lucy - congrats on graduating the 12 week thread and welcome
gilly - how you made me laugh with your "greedy cow" comment. I nearly lost my tea over the keyboard :rotfl:
Ro - Dreaming about chocolate shops? Nice. I could think of worse
jannine - really hope your sickness subsides soon. ((hugs)) I'm also with pigpen on washing things first. The thought of all the dirt that you can't see. I even wash all my own new clothes before wearing them. I know a lot of people don't, but for babies, I think it's a must
jenjade - great bargains at the car boot. :j
A friend dropped off a "what to expect when you're expecting" book over the weekend. Has lots of good stuff in it. Only glanced through certain pages, but will be sure to read cover to cover over the next week or so.TTC #3..........0 -
Twigpig, I got that book from the library and found it a bit too graphic around the labour section! There was one amusing part that I think was around 14 weeks PG where it said the baby would now be 70kg
Luckily the following week the measurements went back to grams.... Though yours might be a different edition without the added entertainment.
I really must find a car boot sale locally. Is there some sort of 'car boot sale' finding website or something? I've not seen any signs up about one in our area, and we don't buy the papers.
Hello Lucy, good to see you over here!
I don't know anyone else pregnant at the moment, though a friend who lives about an hour away had her baby almost a year ago. Still, if I'm only off for 6 weeks anyway I won't have much time to do anything with other new Mums!
Had a horrible start to the day when I walked past a dead cat on my way into work, nearly had me in tears, but a bit of deep breathing and thinking happy thoughts meant I got to work in a reasonable state. If it's still there tonight I might go and knock on doors as I'm sure there's an owner nearby looking for it - I'd seen it around last week and thought how pretty it was :-(
On a happier note, we gave my boss our spare microwave (new house came with a fitted one) and she's bought us a blackcurrant bush to say thank you :-) We had to leave a lovely very productive blackcurrant behind when we moved - it was too well entrenched to get it out - so hopefully in a year or so we'll be enjoying home grown blackcurrant again. We also picked 1.2kg tomatoes to make into chutney, and our neighbour gave us some of her home-grown beans. Hopefully we'll have more time to get the garden productive next year - this year is all decorating! We have 10 doors to gloss in our hallway, and have to do 2 coats each time... it's taking ages!!!!0 -
