I know she is trying atm and I would have loved to be supporting her she has PCOS and is struggling with that but she doesn't want me around so I can't help it makes things awkward and I'm rooting for her to get pregnant soon I'd be so thrilled for her ! The thing is though I'm assuming that when it does happen she will want to be around me again and I'm not sure how to handle that either she's been absent from my life for 3 months now and the gap is getting to big to fill up again if that makes sense.

I do sympathise with her she always knows she has my support it just doesn't seem to be a 2 way thing atm and I'm not quite sure I can forgive her for it :(

I would feel exactly the same way. If she had of came to you and said something like 'I'm really struggling being around pg people at the moment so I might not be in touch for a while' then fair enough, but to just cut you out is unfair.

Speaking of the scans the midwives I've had on the NHS, have been great, I'm not sure if it's because it's my first baby but they don't seem to rush me, my last scan I was in for about 25 minutes, and about 20 of those they were scanning me, so I had loads of time to look at the baby and they were really good at pointing everything out to me when I couldn't see it. I have heard some horror stories though, when they barely even speak to you.

Yip, I had one of the barely speaking ones for my 12 week scan, and when she did speak she muttered as though she begrudged being there. I was so disappointed as I had been so excited. I changed hospitals after that and my 20 weeks scan was fab :D

work will still be paying me almost my full wage until i have been off 39 weeks which takes me until sept 2012 then there will be no money!

is anyone else due around the same time as me? 18th Dec?

Wow!! You can tell you don't work for the public sector. I get as little as they can get away with paying me for maternity :(

I'm due the week before you so will be 22 weeks tomorrow, and due 11th Dec.

I was abit worried actually because someone my OH knows was at the same hospital as me, and said they were really rude etc, but when I went they couldn't have been nicer, so I'm guessing it just depends who you get. Glad you managed to get somewhere you were happier with :D

I am debating about getting my room seperated into 2 rooms. my room is 11 foot by 16 foot. i was thinking of using a storage cupboard and some of my room to make a nursery/ small bedroom. has anyone done this or could advice on the best way? someone saod to me that if i get it done without making a solid wall. ie not plasterboard so it can be taken down it will only class as a 2 bed for council tax rather than a 3 bed. i was going to look into room dividors? i dunno just feel the need to get it all sorted. DD1 had her room extended a few weeks ago so at the moment we are decorating and it seems more logical to seperate my room before decorating and while i have the money

is anyone else due around the same time as me? 18th Dec?
    Jen,
Room dividers sounds like a good idea- maybe you could double up and make the dividers functional by using some tall storage units, then you get the division, and extra storage space instead of using up the space with a wall?

I'm officially due later than you on the 29th/30th Dec, but talking to mum, my older sister (the first) was 7 days early, and i was 5 weeks early (induced). So if i follow family pattern, then i'll be due before Christmas as well - the 21st would be lovely as it is my late grandpa's birthday, and his and my grandmas wedding anniversary. If it is a boy, we were planning on naming after gramps so it would all tie in well.

WW- I work for the county coucil but because i only work 16 hours a week the maternity pay works out to be £18 less than my normal weekly wage! Not sure what happens about working family tax while i am on maternity leave and being paid by work? anyone know?

I've just been looking at the bounty club online, and it says you were supposed to receive a free mum to be package voucher in the pregnancy guide that we were meant to be given. I didn't get this, or at least can't find it.

Has anyone received these vouchers in their pregnancy guide?

    Thanks!

Hiya, the midwife gave me the big bounty pack when i had my booking in, with loads of booklets and books, and bits in. The bounty "mum to be" voucher was a form tucked in to one of the booklets, to be filled in and taken into Sainsburys or Boots. Try looking for a form not a little voucher. It was about A5 size.

When I saw my midwife first, she gave me a Bounty thing for my notes, plus the mum to be pack with samples in. I also seem to have a voucher to collect one too, am debating if it would be naughty to get the other half to collect one, as he has a different address! Annoyingly, it says if I'd got it from Sainsburys instead of being given it, I'd've got a £5 clothes voucher.

Have you got the Bounty book thing yet? Can't remember which thing I got it with, but it has a free pack of nappies voucher in.

Oh, you can call Bounty free and ask about it on 0800 3169341.

Perhaps the book is in the mum to be pack, it seems so long ago I just can't remember! :D If you ring Bounty they might send you a voucher anyway, don't panic just yet. :)
