Mimi I have a 4yr old. The nursery she attends has had 3 girls expecting in the last yr and half and I think they have been talking about it. She knows that baby will arrive near christmas but after fireworks (Im due 22 Nov) but she thinks that the baby will crawl out of your bum - discussion from nursery (think one mum has simiplified it and all kids were talking about it). I just ignore this and say baby wil arrive at the hospital and she soon forgets.
They are priceless in what they come out with. DD wants a sister so she can play and share her bedroom but trying to explain that baby will only sleep, cry and feed for a while and not be able to play with her for a wee while.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

I am 18+3 today and getting worried as i haven't put any weight yet.
i am showing a little bit but you wouldn't know i was pregnant, my clothes still fit me apart from one pair of jeans.
should i be worried?0 -
I wouldnt be worried and glad that you have not put on any weight as I put on too much weight during my 1st and cannot afford it this time. You will have your 20 week scan soon to see that everything is ok but at this stage I do not think you have anything to worry about.
Im 18wks tomorrow and it looks like I have eaten too much pies at the moment - no proper baby bump and this is my 2nd.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

Has anyone got any experience of being signed off work by the GP? I'm seriously stressed with everything, still getting heart palpitations & bad headaches, can't sleep & no appetite & spend so long getting wound up about everything I think I'm losing the plot - I burst into tears everytime I have to go to work which isn't me at all. I'm now worried about how this is affecting giblet, but scared the GP won't take me seriously & just tell me to get on with it. I'm supposed to be on garden leave from work anyway which I was really looking forward to but it was cancelled & I have to go in full-time with nothing to do all day.
I'm also worried as I've only got 15 weeks to go & I don't have a nursery to get ready (just had offer accepted on house) and don't even know if we'll be moved by b-day

do you have any holidays you can take from work? a week off might just sort you out.
are you losing your job? just wondering why you were supposed to be on garden leave.
don't worry about the nursery, babies are supposed to stay in your room for six months anyway.0 -

Hi, no - I only have half a day left to take. Yes, we're being made redundant on 31 July, just not sure I can hold out that long.
I've planned for giblet to be in our room in a Moses basket initially, but living with my parents with all but a suitcase of my stuff in storage I don't feel I can/want to buy anything until I have somewhere to put it. It doesn't help that hubby & I are living separately (he works in Edinburgh anyway during the week) so that kills me too - I really miss him & need his support.0 -

ring in sick for a few days - you can self certify for one week. say you have a cold or stomach upset. i think it's better than the telling the doctor you are stessed.0 -
G'day - just thought I'd check in from Down Under quickly, though nothing much to report here.
I went for a lovely swim and to a yoga-pilates-tai-chi "fusion" class over the weekend, so am getting back on track exercise-wise. Other than a bit of tiredness and mood swings, I feel almost normal - it's kind of making me paranoid that I'm making it all up!
Skint Catt - get yourself to the GP hun. I've no idea whether they would sign you off or not, but reckon it's worth a visit. If you are physically and emotionally stressed (which it sounds like you are) then you need to see someone, even if it's just to let off some of the tension/emotion. I feel for you re the house - we're moving back to the UK from Oz in Sept when I'll be about 6 months and we'll then have to find somewhere to live and get settled and readjust etc. I can feel my BP rising just thinking about, so you know what, I'm not thinking about it. The way I deal with stress is to only worry about what I can control and there's nothing I can do until September, so I'll worry about it all then... I can see how time is ticking for you and it must be sad being away from OH, but just take one day at a time for now. Big Hugs xxx0 -
hey Scitt cat
I got signed off for a week as i was feeling sick (wasnt actually sick) told the doctor i felt dizzy tired etc. he was happy to sign me off.
I would try it. You have nothing to lose by going tell hime you are tired and feel emotional stressed etc and you think a few weeks off would really help you get on top things.
like i said you have nothing to lose:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j
