Had my second scan today. They have changed my dates yet again I am now 13+2 (if it keeps going at this rate I will never have them)
They are both doing fine and already fighting which was fun to watch. Have another appointment in two weeks time when we will see the specialist who will tell us what to expect etc.

I wasn't called in until an hour after my appointment time! They did the dating scan at the same time and I was in there about 15-20 minutes but they couldn't do the NT asa Dot was curled up in a ball and when they fiddled about it curleed even tighter lol
The sonographer also tore a hole in my stomach muscles so I have a huge hernia and didn't book a rescan which she should have.
You get the worst Dr's (nurses, midwives etc) EVER! I think you scare them so much they get all nervous then mess everything up!
My 2nd best thing about being on here (no1 is having a 12+ babba)
is being able to read your posts! How long til we lose you to 24+?:j - DS - 7

Actually our PCT employ the morons no other authority will employ!
the guy who did my first section was struck off for incompetance! That about takes the biscuit!!
I think I have just come across so many that the ordinary ones fade into insignificance. I have actually found a couple of very good mw's and the consultant I am supposedly under this time was actually quite good when I saw him with Squeak.. I have refused to see him so far this pregnancy as I have not felt the need.
I also face a LOT of prejudice having more than 4 children must mean I am a certain type of person so they start treating me like I am a moron and get my back up and I rip strips off them.. it isn't a good start.
the main thing that galls me is that noone EVER reads notes.. why do they have them if noone ever looks at them? I HATE repeating myself so I won't I tell them to read my notes.
they make this big thing about carrying our personal notes and about writing a birth plan just to make you feel better they don't ever look at them.. I still have the notes from 7 of my pregnancies because noone asked for them!!! My birth plans have been signed by consultants and completely ignored and the consultants lied about signing them!!
Time after time I have had negative, traumatic on occasion, horrible experiences with many of the medical staff so I now expect them to be horrible and aggressive and rude and have god complexes.. no I expect the worst and if I am lucky I am pleasantly surprised.
And I lurk most threads.. so I don't get lost..
The point is.. compared to most of mine you all seem to have nice people to work with.. I think I live in the wrong place.. The 2 occasions I had babies in Leeds the staff were fabulous I honestly think it is just the staff here!! I don't understand why the are so bad here. I am really jealous of everyone who seems to have decent staff to deal with.
Usually when I go to an appointment I don't speak.. I let them do their waffle and say what they are programmed to say so it isn't anything I do it is just the way they are.. I do consciously do this! .. I then point out all the bits they have missed in my notes which are relevant and pertinent.. and they look sheepishly through the notes.. i don't think they read anything.. and they waffle some more and I usually then disagree or just outright refuse everything they suggest. I go in prepared for an argument but I say nothing.. which is a killer!
I am a really laid back barely breathing type of person and if I could be bothered to talk to people most discover I am bearable and not at al what they think I am lol..
I get really sad when people don't ask me silly parenting type questions because they think I will laugh at them because I have more experience.. I'm not like that at all! If I can help or reassure I would love to do so rather than see someone struggle.. I'm sure there are a few things I don't know anything aboutLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Hi everyone, may i come and join you? I'm 12+2 today and back from a fairly horrendous 12 week/NT scan and consultant obstetrican appointment, 4 frick'in hours! Made me wait an extra hour with a full bladder for my scan, (SO much pain!) cos they were running so late, and by the time the miserable scan lady released me to wait for the bloods, they had forgotten about my consultant appointment, so had to run off and find some nervous junior from somewhere who was trying to sign me up for all sorts after birth and issue me with prescriptions for post partum injections now. Hmmm.
Beanie was very very active, but they managed to get some measurements eventually, despite my porky tummy. Consultant has booked me in for some extra scans, and consultant appointments to keep an eye on me, and referred me to Consultant Anaethestist for an early appointment about birth options in July ( reckon i'll be about 18 weeks by then). Not so keen on the idea of the post partum injections for DVT prevention. Originally she wanted 2 x per day for 6 weeks- went off to ask a senior for the dose, and then came back and revised it to 7 days minimum and that didnt need to discuss it yet.
Hey ho! The joys. Now just waiting for the combined sceening results in the next 3-7 days.
Still heaving for england. This damn post nasal drip really makes me barf, and combined with the new fun tinnitus in my left ear, i'm full of the joys too!

Oh.. sorry if I worried anyone.. we are fine.. really... I was waffling my usual inane drivel (I do try not to do it but it falls out of my mouth sometimes and I was just thinking about it last night).. a baby born at 23 weeks stands only an 8% chance of survival and only 1 in those 8 will not have a severe disability..
23 weeks is a touch closer than the 24 weeks 'viability' .. but baby still has a chance..
Apologies ..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
here are links for 3 goodie bags you can collect from argos
There are 3 packs in total
Mum to be - http://www.emmasdiary.co.uk/argosvoucher/Emmas_pdf_mum.pdf
Bump to baby - http://www.emmasdiary.co.uk/argosvoucher/Emmas_pdf_bump.pdf
New family - http://www.emmasdiary.co.uk/argosvoucher/Emmas_pdf_family.pdf
Thanks JenJade, I got my goodies today. I love a freebie :rotfl:
I also got a bargain in Mothercare, they had some Pampers nappies that were half price £6.48 down to £3.24 per pack so I took the 4 packs that they had left, then when I got to the till they took another £1.50 per pack, so each pack cost only £1.74 :rotfl:0
