I just wanted to post this for those who may be similar to me.
I am just over 18 weeks pregnant. I have been worried sick cause I have had no movement. No fluttering, bubbles etc.
I phoned the midwife who as I could not get to their centre to get a reassurance heartbeat check advised me to go to Maternity Triage.
I did that and the woman on the other end of the phone worried me sick. She told me to go home sit for an hour and pay attention to my uterus to count 10 movements, all this after drinking a very cold glass of coke. So I did that and still nothing.
Rung them back nearly throwing up with fear at this point for the woman to apologise as she thought I was 28 weeks not 18 and that my movements had stopped. She got totally the wrong end of the story.
anyway I am totally reassured after speaking to a range of professionals that its normal not to feel movement at 18 weeks and I should expect movement any time between 20-22weeks. My scan isnt for another three weeks.
I am going to try and relax now and enjoy this pregnancy. I hear so many stories of people feeling their babies at 15 weeks etc I freaked out. I thougth there was something wrong with me and my baby. I dont even know where my placenta is positioned which may have an affect.
When its your first child and you have struggled to get here its so easy to be scared of everything or lack of things. In case others are concerned about no feeling around the same stage I hope this can give you some peace as it has me.

Thought I'd ramble over here from the big preg thread. I'm coming up in 16 weeks, and could honestly have sworn I'd posted on here, but seems not!
Just from a quick scan of the thread- backache, irritiable, sore, uncomfortable, tired all the time- yup, check on all that! Plus, add in the dizziness and nosebleeds I get a few mornings a week!
My first, and barring one midwife who I've met for 20 mins, not very impressed at all with everything here- most care seems to assume I know everything already, and have been irritated when I've had to ask what some of the abbreviations and terms they use mean. They've all been perfectly nice so far- just had the distinct impression of being another item on a conveyor belt, rather than a person. Though I suppose that all day that's all they hear- and faces must blend after a while for them! I've actually a big thanks for the big preg thread- there's more than a few on there have taken time to explain something, which was nice!0 -

i am 18+3 and i haven't felt anything either. my friend is 6 days ahead of me and not felt any thing so we are normal!!
should be soon though!0 -
I first felt movement at about 19+3 (first baby) and that was only because I was lying on my front sunbathing! Now the only time I don't feel movement is when my husband visits (we're moving house so living separately with family at the moment!) As soon as he's gone I get kicked hell for leather!
Jen, I only want a puppy because I've got a 9 week old kitten and a puppy would complete my family, lol. I'm not actually finding out the flavour - I want a surprise after all that pain & effort in 3.5 months time!
Oooh I've just realised I'm 24 weeks - does that mean I'm not welcome here anymore & have to go & play with the big boys & girls?lol

I'm 17+3 not felt any flutters or bubbles that I've noticed! A few pokes but apparently that can't be baby!
Can't wait for the abuse to start
Is anyone else a ball of emotions? I've been in tears this afternoon for no apparent reason, the text I sent me oh explains it all:
No reason really. Just silly stuff. I wish my family lived closer so I could see them more, I wish I didn't have to keep making the effort to keep in touch with them and my 'friends' I wanna stop thinking and worrying so much. I feel guilty for crying when I should (am happy I am) be happy. Im worried we won't enjoy the take that concert and it'll just be a huge waste of money. Arrrgggghhhhh ignore me. It'll pass. *gives self a slap*
I'm worried about how our relationship will cope with a baby too, didn't tell him that bit yet.0 -
You can stay skint_Catt - I don't think I'll ever be able to keep up with the 'main' thread!0
