Bluemonkey - I sympathise. I've been married a year next weekend but had to give my OH 6 months to propose otherwise I was leaving. He proposed with three days to spare two years ago (not sure what I would have done if he hadn't - I hadn't thought that far ahead!)

I'm also sick of planning everything for everyoen else - a bit of romance & a surprise every now & then wouldn't go amiss. I plan everything from what we eat, I've packed an entire 3 bed house myself and now I'm searching for one to buy - he just goes along with what I want to see & when. It's our first wedding anniversary next weekend as I said and I'm in two minds whether to plan anything - he's agreed it'd be nice to go away overnight (we're currently living apart which is killing me) after I suggested it but that's the last I heard! I'd be so gutted if we got to Friday/Saturday and we didn't have anywhere to go or nothing special to do, but I'm sick to death of thinking all the time!

What is it with men these days?

Maybe they're too used to having everything done for them!
How many of us are sorting our FILs fathers day bits as well as our own Dads!!

    No offence meant!

You poor ladies, my oh told me at Xmas I needed to stop asking him when he was gonna propose for 6months so I have. He has said he'll be me an eternity ring when bubba comes (which is quite easy as my Dad is a jeweller!) but as I control all the finances I'd love to see how he's gonna do that.

I hear ya. I sometimes say to OH "thanks for turning up" as that's generally his contribution to holidays/weekends away/grown up stuff in general.. He reckons it because I always "get in too quick" Admittedly, I am pretty independent and self-sufficient, but there are times it feels like may as well be on my own as it would make no difference to the practical side of my life..... In reality, he's great and I would hate to be without him. We like to think we balance each other out - I'm a planner, he's a plodder :p

Anyway, off to bed now, n'night ladies - chat soon xx

PS. Pebblespop - no advice as I'm in Oz and the NT results were through in 24 hours, so it might be different back home. Good luck nonetheless xx
  • Is anyone else getting headaches? I've been drinking plenty, I can't work put why! They're niggly rather than intense pain.

glittermonster - yes you're probably right I do too much for him but it's my nature! I'd rather do things now & get sorted than wait until the last minute, so I do take over a bit. I'm trying not to (especially as we live separately for the time being) but it's hard though I do not do his family's birthday's or Father's Day etc (though I suppose I do have to think about presents from my family to him & his at Christmas & then presents from him & his to my parents as everyone just asks me!)

I've had headaches daily from about week 7 - I now use 4head stick every morning which keeps most away :) I presume it's just hormones as I drink water like a fish at work.

I think I do to - do too much - just so it actually gets done really and not left to the last minute!

Might have to check that stick out - or the cold press thing....
