Can I ask how many maternity clothes you have?
I've bought some bundles on eBay about 2 jeans, 2 combats, I skirt, 1 leggins .... Will need jumpers and tops but not yet, and pjs.

I have 2 pairs cropped jeans, 2 pairs jeans which barely fit already!, 2 pairs of leggings, which I can't wear atm as they press on my hernia and it is sore, 2 pairs combats.. ove bump and I hate them! and 3 pairs of joggers (these are a size smaller so fit in early pg and after delivery.). I have about 15 tops in various styles and 2 jumpers and 3 cardies which I wear when not pg anyway. I have 2 pairs of pj's as well.. and 4 bf nighties! and 5 nursing bras. Oh.. I have a skirt and a pair of trousers in a bigger size for the last few weeks and if I go out as they are nice.

  • If you are only entitled to SMP, I would say you do wish to return after the full year that you are entitled to, or at least 9 months. Whilst you will only get SMP for 9 months, you will still accrue holiday pay as you are still an employee. You can hand in your notice towards the end of your maternity leave and they will have to pay you for any holidays accrued.

If you tell them you don't intend to come back, you will still get SMP but won't get holiday pay. Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for all the help on my first post, has helped clear things up a bit. I work school meals via the local council so my wage is equated and I get paid through school holidays etc, so I don't think holiday pay would apply to me... not sure though. Because I only work 10 hours a week I don't think that any holidays I would accrue would be worth much anyway! lol
I will not be entitled to SMP as I don't earn enough. I will be entitled to get MA. Will my employer give me back my MAT B1 as I need it to claim MA and my OH needs it for pat leave?
  • I'm guessing they should give your form back then?!

I'm BORED, oh is on nights! I've had all weekend by myself cos he was on days, 3 hrs alone this morning while he slept in, I'll be alone til midday tomorrow, got the day off, got same tomorrow night, working just weds this week, then same weds night/thurs morning.

All I've done is buy tops in a bigger size and I usually wear leggings that I can pull over my bump. Maternity clothes imo are overpriced and pointless x

All my maternity stuff was from the sales and most of it was from last year when I had Squeak so I am getting my money's worth.. I wouldn't expect most clothes to last 2 year TBH the amount of wear it gets, I am not easy on my garments!

That said I have spent all weekend in a pair of pj trousers (£5 from next) and a hideous tshirt (3 for £5) in the next sale also!) my knix were an emergency purchase after OH left my bag at home when we went to his mums for the weekend!! and my bra is an expensive nursing bra I got about a year ago and my slippers were in the M&S sale.. I also got quidco cashback on it all.. bar the pants.. I often get laughed at by family as I never pay full price for anything!!!

Sequeena.. that's a little bump compared to mine.. :D .. hope all is going well for you and your little man now :D

AS for maternity clothes i don't have alot which bugs me as i'm the type of person who likes to have lots of variations of clothing so i don't wear the same in one week. however my bump is so uncomfy i can't find anything which fits and is comfy. so i'm living in linen trousers, i have 1 white and 1 black. the whites are washed and vanished every night as i must say i am wearing them daily as sooooo comfy. i do have leggings but not as comfy. i ahev a pair of maternity jeans, but their over bump type and i hate that. a pair of joggers but i won't go out house in them . ( i'm not a jogging trouser person really). then i have a fab demin skirt, but it too cold at mo. and a selection of top's and 2 dresses. but i jazz up and try to give a different look but jewellery and scarfs and shoes etc.

i'm kinda thinking i only have 10/11 ish weeks left, so i really don't want to buy more than i have to.

Hi everyone! Hope you're all keeping well. JCR get yourself over to the other thread too Mrs!

Re maternity clothes I've got quite a lot but 99% of it is eBay bargains. It's really helped me feel less frumpy and I'm certainly more comfortable. I tended to buy bundles so I do have bits I'm not keen on or don't fit but I will just sell them.

I'm about to reach 29 weeks now and can't believe how time is flying.
