dizzy spells.. stand up slowly, move from lying to sitting to standing rather than straight to standing. gentle exercie.. raises bp slightly if it increases your heart rate.. so waving your arms rather than star jumps and squats! Eat little and often to fend off low blood sugar.

fingers crossed for flavour finder-outers today!

    Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well, its nice to see the same faces here as on the <12 week thread.

Things are okay for me. 14 weeks, more than I thought, and I'm being looked after really well. Lots of scans and app's with the consultant planned and baby will be born by section at 36 weeks on 11th October. Its a little strange knowing when your baby will be born 22 weeks in advance!

I'm not sure if I will be back on here, boredom got the better of me about 10 minutes ago and decided to log in. Thank you to everyone who sent a message in my absence.

Best of luck to everyone and i wish you happy and healthy pregnancies.

    RWB

So glad to hear you're okay. I haven't really posted in this thread yet, but wanted to say thanks for the update and send you some more good vibes. :)

    Hi all
Have decided it's officially time to catch you up over here.... am now 15+2 and it's seeming a bit more real now!! Not showing at all really especially not when clothed, I keep thinking "I can't wait to have a bump!" but I know when it's here I'll be cursing being all big and it affecting my sleep etc!!

It's nice to see so many familiar names who are doing well, those who are 20-24 ish weeks it must seem so weird passing the halfway mark!

    Good luck to all xx

they wouldn't leave it 2 weeks if they thought it was a huge concern.. they'd have got the consultant in straight away!

    Hi all,

Just wanted to post somewhere as I don't really have anywhere else to vent. My best friend had her little girl this morning (the one who asked me to be Godmother). The baby is just beautiful and looks just like her mother. I wasn't sure how I would feel going to the hospital, into the same wards and seeing a baby I should have had, but I can quite honestly say I felt really happy. Im looking forward to watching her grow up, and hopefully she will have a little playmate come October.

I have a scan on the 21st so will find out then if its blue or pink. I'm hoping the latter, but that said I don't really care either way. I was watching the thread regarding 'finding out the sex of you baby' with interest. I find it very hard to understand how its even comparable to opening christmas present early. Some people are terribly judgemental on things that have nothing to do with them. Such a shame.

Freebies - They sound like they are doing everything they can re: baby being small, but if you don't feel happy after seeing the consultant do make sure you keep pestering them. Make somebody listen to you. I will regret not doing that until the day I die. :(

    Best wishes to all
  • Nice to see you Red and yay for your friend and how well you coped. Its a very big step and looking forward and being positive is great to see.

I hope you come back and let us know what colour you have :) fingers crossed for you.

    sounds intense.

I found out tonight from my 2 day job boss (I'm a nanny) they wont accept me back with my baby after my maternity leave, which has really shocked me as 1. both the children in my care will be at school and half the time cos of my other halves shifts he'd have the baby. I really thought that she'd be OK with it, apparently not.

So now to wait and see what my other boss says and see what happens there.

Could I really pay for someone to look after my baby while I go and look after someone elses' - can we afford this?
Do I hold out for a job that would let me bring my baby?

I had to admit I've had a few tears.

Glittermonster - Don’t take it personally, I don’t think it’s a reflection on you or how they think you will be after maternity leave. If I hired a nanny, one of the positives for me would be that they are looking after my child(ren) and mine only. If the nanny was potentially caring for their own child at the same time, that changes the balance of the care I had chosen. In my mind, it would be more like having a childminder than a nanny but originally they had chosen a nanny above a childminder or nursery. Also, if the children will both be school/nursery age then perhaps they want to take the chance to review the arrangements and it would also mean less change for their children because when you go on maternity leave they can switch to the new arrangements and stick with them, rather than switching twice (once when you go and then again when you return). I'm sure everything will fall into place for you but can understand feeling a bit sad about it all. xx

What sort of aches Glitter? Don't know what to suggest on the job front though, haven't dared look into childcare yet.

RWB - Congratulations on your god-daughter :) hope your scan goes well and do let us know!

Freebies - is it worth giving your midwife a ring to put your mind at rest? Like PP said, if it was urgent I'm sure they wouldn't make you wait 2 weeks :)

I'm off for more physio this morning :( just driving to the hospital is likely to finish me off so I doubt the luscious Ian will be my favorite person after the appointment!
