do they allow children into scans, mine are 11 and 9 and they want to come next week to the scan

we took our 3 with us when we went for the 20 week scan. our children are 7, 5 and 3 and the staff were more than happy with them their. they explained the machines to them, what they could see on the screen. the children absoluty loved every minute.

then when i had to go back for another scan at 24 weeks i had my youngest and he was excellent for the 3 hrs !!! we were there, and again the staff were brill with him. and got him involved, by asking questions etc.

I'm feeling a bit bleurgh if I'm honest. Find myself getting really tired and achey and starting to feel uncomfortable at times. I'm 24 weeks tomorrow so goodness knows what a misery guts I'll be at the end

    morning all...

hope you're all getting nice and round and will start to feel movements soon... I have to say this is lots of fun at the moment, especially seeing jerks and bumps on my belly but if baby stays this active I'm going to be in trouble.

Had some lovely news from my cousins who had their baby twins on Sunday... emergency C-section at 33 weeks due to heart complication in mum but they had been watched in hospital since Easter so everyone was prepared and they're doing well in their incubators. A boy (2lb/0.9kg) and a girl (3lb/1.4kg) so very very tiny... I'm going to have to go out shopping now :D

Hope all are well and blooming x
    any scans soon?...
    team yellow :)
Can't wait to meet you now baby!

  • winnie they seem to have gone - my boss (a doctor) seems to think it was ligaments, my OH seems to think the bleeding is my body still trying to have a monthly bleed - the last one was about 5 weeks ago which fits my cycle since coming off the pill.
Hope your aching behaves to let you get on!

twilight eak - i'm not looking forward to that bit - tho can't wait for a proper bump!!

forum gazer awww what lovely news - one of each - perfect!! enjoy your shopping trip. My 20w scan is on 1/7 - ages yet!! Is there a list of scans on this thread? maybe we should start one!!

pigpen ohh no :( maybe I shouldn't ask!! have you found a twin pram yet for your bubba and LO?

We got a Quinny Speedi yesterday for £120 brand new from one of my OHs work colleagues - can't wait to see it and have a play (see if it fits in my micra's boot!)

We're doing quite well on stocking up I am 13weeks and we already have sorted:
Cot, moses basket, car seat(s), travel system, bottles, steralisers, sling, playmat, push along walker, clothes, baby bath & unit, monitor, thermometer, toys, bumbo, sit in walker...

And we've hardly spend a penny! Generous friends and family and my boss (in some cases in exchange for babysitting), good old freecycle (thanks to my sister in law) and eBay.

We'll need to buy new mattresses for the coat and moses basket and a carry cot for the pushchair. - you can get 4% cash back from kiddicare through TCB - http://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/glittermonster as well - my referal link incase anyones interested.

I'm hoping to get my maternity clothes from eBay too, I'll be interested to see at the end of it all how much we've actually SPENT on baby and me (clothes)

Although it wont all be new, or match we wont be in debt buying it all.

Better go and wake the sleeping baby up and get ready for the school run and playdate!

    i know i shouldn't be here but i like this thread,lol.

i'm 26 + 3 and it is really wizzing by.

baby been doing some odd tings in my tummy. not quite sure what. but right under my rib cage it is either his head or bump sticks out and oh my, the pain take my breath away.it goes so tight and sore. you can see when he moves as my belly goes really hard and sticks out so far, then when he settles down my belly goes softer and shrinks a bit.

but apart form that all is well. bit of heart burn and the odd back pain and pubic bone or pelvic bone pain ( can't remember which midwife said it was now, lol)

I'm keeping myself busy and out of mischief. Today i've carpet cleaned the kids carpet. omg it didn't look that bad but he water was like mud, i feel minging. it was quite satisfiying tho. and now i know it is nice and clean. hubby did lounge on sunday, but i'm jsut gonna wizz over it again to see if the water comes out clean. i bet it doesn't.

i've spent the last 10 days potty trainign my 3 yr old. he's brill. nighttime he is perfect. no accidents. day time 99 % have the odd miss when he can't get to potty fast enough. still having a bit of trouble with a number 2 tho. but i'm so proud of him. he has gone in 10 days from hating the potty to not havign a nappy at all.

think i've now got enough clothes for the baby. as where hes due end aug, i don't wanna buy too many summer clothes incase the summer isn't that good. so i've got i think 3 or 4 outfits and rest is sleepsuits and body vest's. i'll go shopping once he's here. i got the most cute pumpkin halloween outfit on ebay. brand new with tags for 99p plus £1.50 postage. he gonna look so cute at halloween.

hope everyone else is all well.

I didn't find out I was pregnant til gone 11 weeks so booked a private scan with a company called BabyBond who are absolutely fab. I had my dating scan on the Friday (was 11+5 weeks) and my NT scan on the following Tuesday. Results were back on Thursday afternoon with the paperwork confirmation in my letterbox on Friday to give to the midwife on my booking-in appointment. This did cost me £169 but as an older mum with Downs in the family I wanted to get this privately done and the NT screening needs to be done before 13+6 weeks as I understand so time was of the essence.

BabyBond give you lots of scan pics - I'm booking my 4D scan for the end of the month with them, option of getting the video, key-rings ect.
I had my 20 adnomaly scan at the hospital. Little bit of a wait but no-where near 2 hours. Guess it depends if they have a lady with a problem or baby not awake enough so mumtobe is encouraged to have a walk that they may run late.

    hello everyone

had my dating/nuchal scan yesterday and they said i was 13+0.

nuchal measurement was 1mm so that seems ok. they took blood as part of the nuchal test - when do you get the results?

we were at the hospital for two hours arrrgghhh!! my dh was asking me about a private scan for the 20 weeks scan as we hopefully wouldn't be stuck in the hospital for so long. anyone know about having private scans instead of the nhs ones? does the private clinic tell the nhs midwife the results etc?
