Have you seen Noah's ark by SoHo?

It's cute isn't it?! :) We were talking last night and finally decided not to buy to it (as OH had his finger hovering over the 'Place Order' button!) because we know deep down we don't really need it! :o We've decided to not go with a specific theme for now and see what develops. :)

Thanks for that link BZ, will have to see if OH is up for a trip to Manchester this weekend. :)

Feeling annoyed and uncomfortable this morning. Wearing my new maternity tights from H&M and they're too small! I waver between medium and large depending on the brand and they only had medium in the shop so I decided it'd be fine as surely they'd have some more give considering they're maternity tights. I was wrong! Going to be hoiking the blasted things up all day whilst they cut into the tops of my thighs, cursing the fact that I've wasted £7.99!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Had my blood test results though, and I'm at no higher risk for downs syndrome.

Nausea seems to be making a bit of a return this week! grrrr

Eiteews congrats on the positive scan.
 Mini me due March 2014
  • I can't wait to be sure what I'm feeling is baby moving!

Yesterday I was fine until I bent down t get some contact lenses from my drawer and a wave of nausea set me back a while!

Other than that we're all good:) Wanted to go to the Baby Show in Manchester on Sunday but bf is playing in a basketball match :( Boo!

Well I had better get off and sort a few bits. Going to start a secret stock pile of baby stuff starting with todays shopping (Iceland and Bodycare so wipes etc) just a couple of pounds a week will soon add up!

Just had a midwife appointment and I'm 17+3 apparently - never really understood the point of +3 but never mind! :)

Everything seems good and the baby's heartbeat is strong. My dry and slightly sore mouth is a lovely pregnancy symptom that I've never heard of before, I just have to keep an eye on it.

The consultant has put me down for the delivery suite, managed third stage and episiotomy if required. I got a bit teary and asked who I could beg/bride or beat up to get into the birthing center.
The midwives were lovely and said that if everything remains 'normal' they will start processing the paperwork to get me in the birthing center. I may have to sign a disclaimer to acknowledge that I'm ignoring consultant advice but the only thing I'm changing is the location of my birth to round the corner!

Blimey hormones are scary... I just cried because a restaurant I phoned to book for this evening was full and I'd set my heart on going there. Only once I'd made alternative arrangements could I calm down about the whole thing.

Please say its not just me!

Smlsave- I think they use the +3 cos the baby is growing so quickly and there would be a big difference between +1 and +6. Of course I could just be making that up :D
No wonder you were teary! So would I be if they were talking about episiotomy at this stage. Some docs are too scissor happy

Welcome Eiteews - I have been a bit hormonal too and been even worse cos I'm tired and not feeling well with this virus thing. I got over emotional when DD1, who's 15, queried why I wanted normal crisps instead of squares :o

Sjlou- great news on your tests results :)

Birdie - that is really annoying re the tights and they're so expensive! I'm glad this time I don't need to wear work clothes although I think I do have a spare pair of M&P tights from last time. I found them really good although I did buy bigger than normal.

I would love to go to one of the Baby Shows. I'm not too far from London but I get so knackered walking the length of myself. I find myself looking jealously at people in mobility scooters and on itv3 they keep advertising those chairs which push you up to standing. For the first time I'm thinking They look great! :rotfl:

Thanks faithhope, you explanation makes sense to me even if it's all made up :D
I had a third degree tear last time so I understand that a cut might be the lesser of two evils. *faint*

I'm crying a lot more Eiteews - at silly adverts, if anything doesn't go my way and DH is suddenly the voice of calm and reason in the house!

Would I be look at funny for suggesting stocking for those who wear tights - they are much easier to get on as your bump gets bigger and OH's seem to like them too! ;)

  • Does anyone else feel really really hot? I am sweating loads and feel so hot all the time and am wearing hardly anything but still boiling. windows are open all the time.

It is making me very short tempered snappy etc and I really dont like it :(
Just take each day as it comes. :)
    Bump due 18th January :j
  • My friend lent me her Doppler today. I used it for about a minute and couldn't hear anything but I'm not even sure where I'm supposed to position the thing. I am NOT going to panic at this stage!

Had another scan today ( nuchal fold) and bloods. Baby was much more active since last week, waving arms and legs, was able to see everything clearer too :) feeling more real as last week it was very lazy and although I did see heartbeat it wasn't really moving around.

MW said all looks fine but will get my results in about 3 weeks when bloods have been tested.
