Sorry to hear about your dad, I hope they can sort sothing out, Good that your mom can have a bit of a rest for awhile. Can SS sort any help out for her at home?
This sort of thing is never nice to deal with, Might be a good idea for you your sister and your mom to have a heart to heart over a coffee and work out whats best long tearm, Its not only your dad and his care that needs thinking of.

As i said not a nice thing to have to deal with but rember there is always more than one opshion. There is a lot of help out there day centers and the like but you really have to go looking for it all. Have you contacted any chairtys about your dad? they may be able to sujest somthing that you might not of even thourt about.

    Good luck,

    (late) Morning to all!

We've been down in London for the past few days staying with friends just having time together since the OH came back, and today we're going to see if we can take a rescue dog home :j

I've wanted an older border collie for ages, but until we knew what what happening with my job and OH's course, we've not been able to commit. Now that OH is in the country more often than not, I'm only working 3 or 4 days a week and my mum has said yes, we're ready! :D:D The one we're going to see is 7 or 8 years old and was ditched after his owner died and the children in the family wanted him put to sleep (the dog, not the dad!).

So, new year, OH is back, new job, new car, new dog!

Apart from that, we're STILL waiting for the OH to be paid for his contract, it's now a week overdue and some of the guys he works with are still waiting 3 weeks after they were due to be paid.

On the OS front, not much has happened as we're so busy trying to sort stuff out, but as we're down to our last £300 it'll have to start now....

Tea tonight is whatever I can be bothered to make after we get home.

Will update if we have a new addition in the next few days! ;)

Hope all are well and hugs to those who need them.

    T xx

Id love a dog, But my wife wont two cats and thats what we ended up with. I will have a dog oneday after the cats have passed one.

    Morning all,

Cold cold cold here...really ready for spring now.
My cold has made it...im beaten!:( Keeping warm, taking a few pills and drinking lots. Another lazy evening and early to bed for me.

Visit to meet friends new baby has been cancelled due to the huge amount of family that have popped out of nowhere to meet the new addition! Fingers crossed for monday.

Probably best that you cant visit the baby as you have such a bad cold. Newborns are very vulnerable as they are not born with a fully established immune system x

Redruby - so sorry to hear about your dad but at least you managed to get some help and hopefully he will get a good assessment and your mum will have a good rest x

Huumph - really wanted to go on the meet today but know im not up to it. Hope it goes well.

So Im bored today:( Kids Dad has taken DD to Coventry as she been offered a uni place there. Again not up to going so feeling despondent. I am ploughing through the washing and plan to make some buns later when DD is back to help. Boring boring - I know. Still I brought so spring flowers to cheer myself up and they are wonderful colours and the sun is shining and a bird singing....hey this OS thinking is beginning to cheer me up. Have a lovely day xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

  • Hya Redruby, what a horrible shock for you. It sounds like the respite care is desperately needed, so well done you and your sister for sorting that and the house out. Your mum is lucky to have you both - she wouldn't have the energy to have got all that done. Getting the help you need should be made much easier. Anyhow, well done and hugs, Silver x

  • Morning All

Cold, grey, wind and rain here today yuk :(
Done some washing but it has to go on the airers, rads or TD today.
DH and DS have gone to FIL to replace his bumper for him as he had another prang  - I think it is high time he gave up driving but he won't hear of it.
So all the housework is more or less finshed it is DH's turn to do the bathroom this weekend so I have a break from that:)

Redruby ...sorry to hear that your dad is back to square one ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))) hopefully they will get things sorted this time.

Hester ....(((((((Hugs))))))))) I would change jobs

I hope everyone has a high old time at the meet ;)

Afternoon all! Hope everyone's enjoying the grey skies *not* and those at the meet have a good day :D
HH, i don't know how you do a job like that. I've only been to a very nice all girls grammar school and I couldn't handle teaching there, let alone trying to control 14 year old boys!!
redruby *hugs* lots and lots of hugs, your parents are lucky to have you and your sister hope today is better x

Woke up with the beginnings of a UTI and hot footed it to the chemist, no doubt due to not drinking enough water yesterday(for me that's less than 5L!!) :( Very annoying as I don't feel like leaving the house for long so can't do my shopping, instead i'm having a mass clean. Got load number 2 in the WM, hoping extra powder & stain remover gets the blood out or someone will be buying me a new sheet! Am having a break to eat/post, then finish off the bedroom and move on to the kitchen! I don't feel like asking anyone to help as I just wanna get on with it IYKWIM?
Am staring at the pile of pillows and duvets dreading putting covers on! It's one thing I just hate!

Hi all still getting to grips with all this old style stuff, was brought up to "make do and mend" but as you can see from my sig it all went a bit wrong somewhere! Anyway we're currently eating out of the freezer, steak and sweet potatoe pie for dinner (cheap reduced frying steak!)

Tired mum - has your daughter looked at the "social change" course at manchester met some would say its a bit of a nothing course but can give you an opening into social work, child protection and many other caring type professions my daughter started in sept after changing her mind about mental health at the last minute. might be worth a look

  • I know prices are going up, but this is ridiculous, hubby went to the local Tesco Express, he bought a loaf of bread, a punnet of mushrooms & 20 cigarettes, it came to £39.87p. The assistant got really stroppy when hubby queried the cost, so hubby walked out, lol.
