Morning all,
Bright and blowy here, had a few spots of rain but nothing much, and its freezing brrr, have got the wm on the go with the first of 4 loads, will hang it all on the line today.
Had a bit of a bad day yesterday, nipped into mums to drop the dog off before work, and found my dear old dad naked and wandering round muttering about baboonsand a note from mum saying she had been up all night (again) and that she could not cope any more, I took the day off and got onto my sister, who sat on the phone most of the day arranging respite care, I (between phone calls to social workers etc) cleaned through the downstairs, and must have done 8 loads of washing  and managed to get most of it dry, anyway the end result is that dad is in respite for up to 6 weeks, while they try to get him sorted, apparantly this is not typical dementia behaviour, these hallusinations are not normal, so they are looking into that. At least mum can have a good rest now, and hopefully get on top of things at home.
Tired mum and salt and pepper my dd want to do that course too, will be a couple of years yet for her, lets hope they all get on a course.
Dinner tonight will be gamon and salad, the others will have bread and butter or mash with theirs.
Must have a look at the recipies for lc bread this morning, need to find some flour, any suggestions ?
OK better get on, have good days all, enjoy the meet xx0 -

Redruby. That's good that you managed to get your Dad into respite for 6 weeks. I'm sure your Mum will really benefit from the break. It could be something like a urinary tract infection, chest infection, even constipation that caused this behaviour. Something which doesn't affect a younger person as much, can have quite a dramatic impact on an older person. At least if he has some investigations done, they can get him treated asap.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

redruby - my nan had dementia and used to get like that when she had a water infection. she was prone to them too"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0

Good Morning!
I do hope all those going to the Birmingham meet have a great day - and put up some pics for the rest of us to see afterwards!
HH - My blood boils on your behalf - swearing and assault and the DepHT takes no notice at all??? Definitely worth getting the union involved I'd have thought.
Regarding social worker courses, I too think it's because they want folks to have a bit more life experience rather than school-uni-social work. I have two friends whose children are now fully fledged social workers - one did the course after his first degree plus three years work, the other got a kob in a care home for two years after sixth form and was then accepted straight away. Best of luck anyway!
DS wants to come for a couple of days, so should be here late afternoon. I need to go to Curves, pay a bill in town and then visit Mr T's for a few bits and pieces.
Help needed please!! We have a black tie do to attend in about five weeks time. I'm thinking I'll need a fairly formal, probably long, dress?? I do have time to make something but can't find a fairly straight-forward, plain pattern. Saw a couple of dresses in the sale at JL yesterday - both over £200!! Definitely not an option! Will probably be able to count on the fingers of one hand the opportunities to wear it over the next few years! Anyone have a simple pattern they can send me the number of please? I'll probably post this on the sewing thread as well.
Anyway, enough blethering from me!
have a great weekend, whatever you are doing. Take care.Resolution:

Morning All!! I am so sleepy. OH went to work this morning so i had a lie in. Now me and pup are snuggled on the sofa.
Not much planned for today. WM is on, dinner is either pork and prawn stir fry or Coley fillets with summat (we didn't end up eating dinner last night)
I'm sticking to my plan of a weekend hiding away from the world and loving it.
Ohhh and old co-worker of mine had a baby yesterday. It's made me quite broody!!

Good Morning everyone ,well its cold and damp here in Kent and not in the least spring-like at all.I'm glad I don't have to go out anywhere today at least.I shall be finishing off my essay (hopefully) and then a bit of a swish around with the duster.I have my friend June coming down for a couple of days next week, and she does the bits I can't reach in my house as she is far more nimble than I am and hops up on a chair for me.My ceilings are quite tall (9ft)so its a case of if the light fitting needs dusting you need to stand on a chair( not a good idea when you have a wonky leg/hip)
Tomorrow I shall be off to have dinner at my DDs and an afternoon of board games with the little boys.In the morning eldest DD will come to have coffee and change the beds for me
Apart from that not a great deal to do really.Hope everyone has a good weekend, and the Birmingham meet goes well.all the London meets I have been to have been great fun
Take care everyone

(late) Morning to all!
We've been down in London for the past few days staying with friends just having time together since the OH came back, and today we're going to see if we can take a rescue dog home :j
I've wanted an older border collie for ages, but until we knew what what happening with my job and OH's course, we've not been able to commit. Now that OH is in the country more often than not, I'm only working 3 or 4 days a week and my mum has said yes, we're ready!:D The one we're going to see is 7 or 8 years old and was ditched after his owner died and the children in the family wanted him put to sleep (the dog, not the dad!).
So, new year, OH is back, new job, new car, new dog!
Apart from that, we're STILL waiting for the OH to be paid for his contract, it's now a week overdue and some of the guys he works with are still waiting 3 weeks after they were due to be paid.
On the OS front, not much has happened as we're so busy trying to sort stuff out, but as we're down to our last £300 it'll have to start now....
Tea tonight is whatever I can be bothered to make after we get home.
Will update if we have a new addition in the next few days!
Hope all are well and hugs to those who need them.
