morning all..it looks sunny outside but my house is freezing......

quiet weekend here with nobody home for the weekend this week.....dd1 is busy with her mid year exams but her boyfriend has been home for the weekend so I have been busy baking for her and her friends while they are revising......
yesterday I made granola cookies.and seseme, honey, tehina biscuity things....today I have made her 3 loaf cakes,....1 with choc.chips, 1 with halva, honey and tehina and one with apoples brown sugar and cinamon. just made 2 shepards pies, 1 for them and one for me and oh for tomorrow......someone gave oh 2 huge pomalos[sp] so will send them one along with a carton of tomatoes and eggplants from our fields so that should keep them going for a while.
we are invited to a barbeque at noon today with a few other familes, have bought the meat together and everyone is bringing sides......I have made a big potato gratin type thing and am waiting for 10:30 so I can put it in the oven[we are 2 hours ahead here] and then go jump in the shower.....

hope everyone has a good weekend and that everyone on the meet has a good time.....

    Morning all

Have a great time all those going to Brum meet.

Raining but warmer here this morning. DH gone to work at stupid early o'clock but I didn't wake when he got up, so have had a lovely lie-in! DS2 is up and has had a cuppa and toasted bagel for brekkie, DS2 still in his pit, I've just had coffee will be heading for the shower shortly then porridge for brekkie.

Tried to be very OS yesterday hung the washing out on the line first thing, an hour later it was frozen stiff and no drier, left it out until 3pm and had thawed out but certainly not very dry, so then went into TD! Have another load in WM to go into TD today and need to ice the cupcakes I made yesterday, want to get all the ironing done to, not too much though as I've done most of it already.

May make a shepherds pie for tonight's dinner, need to visit my parents as they've both been poorly and children haven't seen them for ages, they've both asked this week to go and see them. DS1 needs a new white shirt, so will pop to MrT's to see if I can get a cheap one.

Will generally be a bit of a relaxed weekend, boys have rugby tomorrow one away and one at home, not much else planned.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I hope that all those people heading to Birmingham don't cause too much havoc :D. Have a good day!

OS wise, things have been ticking along quite nicely here. I'm really pleased with myself. Since the new year, we haven't resorted to the old style faithful of fish and chips. I'm feeling so virtuous... ok, so we've only had 3 weeks of 2011 so far but...... Oh and we've also been trying out some new recipes - at least one new one a week, then freezing the leftovers for another time. We even had some parsnips left over and DH grabbed our New Covent Garden Soup recipe book and decided which soup he'd make. Very tasty and there's only one portion left now... :(

We're going to a friend's house for lunch tomorrow with other friends. Each couple is taking a course and so I'm in charge of cheese and biscuits (how easy is that?!). I'll be sourcing the cheese later but the chutney that we'll take will be the Green Tomato Chutney which DH made last September. Nearly at the end of it, but these friends will appreciate the blood and sweat which went into its making. :rotfl:

As for the rest of the day, the ironing pile is looking suspiciously large and I have a parcel to post for a friend's newly born baby. Hopefully a little relax with a book swapped via www.readitswapit.co.uk too! :D

    Have a good day everyone.

That looks like fun!! And well done on the weight loss. I don't have scales at home, but my trousers that were a bit tight a few weeks ago, now have a few inches to spare. Yay!

HH I really hope something works out for your daughter. It must be so frustrating for her to work so hard and get no recognition for it.

Tired Mum I could not do your job for love nor money! My daughter is in year 7 and the stuff she tells me about what some of the kids get up to would make yer hair curl! And she's in a pretty decent school.

Wet, cold and miserable here today. At least it was dry, if freezing yesterday. Managed, for the first time this winter, to get washing on the line. Had to knock ice off it first! My 3 yr old had wet the bed........I don't give her much to drink in the evening, but I discovered that she was trying to drink ALL the bath water!!!!!! No wonder she was soaked in the morning. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Have great craic at your meet guys. I'm sure it'll be a right laugh.

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

    Morning folks
have a wonderful time Birmingham meet gang!! Look forward to hearing how it went. Sounds like you will have a lot of fun!
Not so cold here today - bit of frost on the park but nothing like the thick covering there has been lately.
DH working today and I will head into town to have a look at John Lewis. I got vouchers from my sister for my birthday last year and thought I'd spend them in the sales but no. Apart from the crowds then, the few pairs of boots I had my eye on didn't come up in the sale.
Shepherd's pie for tea I think, with carrots, swede and brocolli. I'll make enough for tomorrow or I might freeze the left overs. Will see what else I'll do while the oven is on - maybe some twinks or rock bun type things. We have finished the last of the Christmas cake so it would be nice to have something in the tin.
Have some ironing to tackle either today or tomorrow. Will see if there is something on TV to watch while I do it.
Ok, off for s shower - it's time to get out of my jim jams!
    Have a good Saturday peeps

  • Morning all.

Have fun, all of you at the birmingham meet. Have a G&T for me!
I am off to see Manic Street Preachers at Brixton Academy tonight with DH. My sister is abbysitting which is lovely of her. Me & dh hardly ever go out togegther because we struggle for a sitter. I don't like to ask my sis as she has 4 little darlings of her own

Today I need to swish around the place & cean the bathroom.

So my sis doesn't have to cook for the kids I'm getting them ready made macaroni cheese for dinner. I have had to explain what this is to the kids, lol! I mean they know what mac cheese is, but ready made, not so much!

Right, will finish my coffee & get on.

Love, (((hugs))) & spoons to those in need
