thats sounds better to me. I hate all that fat dripping out of the chicken (or is our KFC not up to scratch). Probably why i have never tried it myself.....another happy bug.........sorry,blogger embracing the simple life0

I've seen recipes for 'southen fried' chicken that cook the chicken in the oven, then dip in the batter and just fry for a few seconds to crisp up the batter, rather than having to leave it in the oil for ages to cook the chicken.0

The real mystery to be solved is where all those odd shaped chunks with little bones come from on a chicken.0

Surely you can ask at the KFC for a list of ingredients? I`m sure they would give you it if you said you were allergic to certain ingredients and you need to know what exactly was in the coating? Obviously you wouldn`t get measurements but I`m certain that they would give you a list?
Is it law that all food stuff has to list all the ingredients on food items?
I`ve been into Asda and asked for a list of ingredients for their prawn balti at the curry counter.Asisstant gave me a list straight away with no questions,might work with fast food joints?Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0 -
not a chance !!!!!! they will list the secret ingredient under flavourings
unless someone dies from a allergic reaction to a KFC and can prove it was the ingredient that did it ( unlikely as it is secret or does not exist) then they will keep it under lock and keyBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Errrrrrrrr all that salt! Yuk yuk yuk!Lydia

I make mine (not the same though but good for those on a diet)
Any (plain ect) Flour maybe about a cup, dried mixed herbs tbsp, black pepper tsp , salt tsp. pop all of this in a bowl.
Paint the chicken with a bit olive oil, dip the chicken in the mixture till its covered, if you fancied dot the chicken with oil again, put in the oven and cook till done.Grocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03
Other spends (Clothes Luxuries etc)£11.97 + £1.19 + £7.36 + £69.00 + £38.50 + £5.50 + £23.00 +£2.00 = £158.52:shocked::sad:0 -
Hi, is it a cup n saucer "cup measure", or the usual typical coffee/tea mug we use to measure the ingredients. How many chicken portions would you say roughly this mixture will do. It sounds an awful lot of salt. I dont mind, as I have a lot of salt - not sure about the kids tho.
Where do you buy "msg" from?
Hope to try this soon.

Made some of this last night. Hand to adjust a lot of the quanitites because I was only using 2 pieces of fillet, and I had no onion salt, had to replace garlic salt with garlic powder... And I also used a lot less salt than called for.. But it was otherwise very nice. Made my arms tingle afterwards though, and I didn't sleep last night. Partly because of the mega salt I think. Will reduce this even further next time.SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?"
