Car noise has upset someone

Yes, I over took two cars and a cyclist on a quiet country lane, why wouldn't you drive like that with a police car behind you?
It's not a video on driving skill, it's actually just a lovely Sunday morning trip over the local hills, if I wanted to show driving skill it would be a video on a track with a crash helmet on. It certainly wouldn't be filmed on a public road.
I don't think many would disagree, it certainly isn't a video on driving skill.
Double white line ok to overtake the cyclist on? (To be fair, you didn't cross it by much though)0 -

I suspect the boys in blue may have seen things differently.

The neighbour 2 doors down on the right is an odd one - he sleeps all day, awake all night and has friends visiting in the early hours of the morning in loud sports cars pumping out loud music0

Right, my thoughts!!
The guy is going to work 5 days out of 14. We presume his car is taxed, insured and has a valid MOT. It's roadworthy. It matters not one jot whether the exhaust is the original one or not, my wife had a Fiat Punto and we had to replace the back box on that three times in seven years, so that didn't have the original exhaust on it either did it?! Does it make it illegal in anyway, does it chuff.
With regards to S59 or whatever it is that has been quoted, if the council/LAPD/VOSA (as if!) are going to sit in a bush with a decibel meter and wait for him to go to work at 5.30am to see if it can be classed as causing an annoyance, I'm a rubber duck. What would they do, video him coming out of his house, get into his car, start it up and drive off. "This m'lud, is anti-social behaviour in its worst form." Get a grip.
However, IF, and I doubt he is from what the OP has posted, he is sat there with it running for twenty minutes before driving off, then that could well be classed as an annoyance.
All these people saying "you should buy another exhaust/get a different car", please, !!!!!!, honestly. If you don't like it, buy some ear plugs for a couple of quid, or ask the OP to provide them even. It's a small country this, there isn't that much space for 56m people, so you're going to come across some noise. Not everyone works 9-5.
OP, carry on as normal, you're doing nothing wrong, you're perfectly entitled to drive your car to work whenever you need to, and as long as it is "roadworthy" and you genuinely do just get in it and drive off, there isn't a damn thing anyone is going to do about it.
PS - I loved my Mini with a stage one kit!!:D

Well, that's an odd rant. Uninformed, selfish and just a little manic. You seem to have mixed up the meaning of "original parts" and "original equipment." You also don't seem to know how some local authorities deal with noise nuisance and what the thresholds are for deciding what is or isn't a nuisance. Section fifty-nines are not put in front of a judge and there is no need for video evidence.
The person who is subjected to the nuisance should not be the one who has to solve the problem, the onus is on the one who is causing it. To suggest otherwise is very selfish and shows how much you value your fellow citizens.
P.S. The population of UK is a little more tha fifty-six million. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Oh goody, can I ask that my local council start using quieter bin wagons then as I'm sick of them waking me up at 6AM every Tuesday. It's completely antisocial.0
