You might need to look at that again, barf, barf, barfI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Dont really get the 99% of posters who are giving advice here. I leave for work at 6am, so do most of the people i know, if not earlier.
My neighbours dont bat an eyelid.
How long do you guys want to sleep!!?? Working people, who pay the taxes that finance this country, can be up, about, and out to work by the back of 5am easily.
Thing that really bugs me, if im on night shift, like a lot of public sector workers, gets woken up unexpectedly, and uninvited at midday by someone at their door...thats much worse!!
OP, you're doing nothing wrong, if people in your street cannot stomach the fact some people have to leave for work early, and do not appreciate the benefit you provide to society by doing so, thats their problem.
Once again this forum is exposed in a really clear way for what it is.
Pathetic. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Ask them not to stop outside your house. They would agree to that, and it'll keep some of the noise down.
They wake me up as soon as they start at the top of the road. There's plenty of time to get up+dressed and put my bins out if I've forgotten to do so.
This is missing the point though.
They come down my road, at 6 AM, in their heavily modified HGV which has all kinds of noisy non-standard parts fitted (eg. lifting and crushing equipment) and wake me up.
Yes they're simply earning a living but apparently, according to the logic in post I initially replied to, this is unacceptable and they should fix their HGV to make it quieter because I'm disturbed by their noise.0 -

And if it's noisier than any other dustbin truck that left the factory, I'm sure you would have a valid complaint.
If the op's car isn't noisier than a stock 998 mini, they'll be fine too.0 -

Another example of the law being an !!!?
It is illegal to leave a vehicle with its engine running unattended on the public highway, a private driveway is not the public highway,
therefore the law does not apply, however your insurance company would probably take a dim view of doing so.˙ʇuıɹdllɐɯs ǝɥʇ pɐǝɹ sʎɐʍlɐ

If they're back in the house having a coffee while it warms up you could nip out and switch it off.... and leave a note behind asking them to use a frost cover on the car as it was waking everyone up.
If they kept doing it then complain to their emplyer if it's a works van ( they shouldn't be leaving it running for over 5 minutes, iirc)optimus_primera wrote: »It is illegal to leave a vehicle with its engine running unattended on the public highway, a private driveway is not the public highway,

Where does the 5 minutes come in?
The insurance won't pay, simple.0 -

Yes, I understand that, but don't see the logic of it being a criminal matter?0 -
I would suspect its illegal on the rd for safety issues?˙ʇuıɹdllɐɯs ǝɥʇ pɐǝɹ sʎɐʍlɐ
