If they're back in the house having a coffee while it warms up you could nip out and switch it off.... and leave a note behind asking them to use a frost cover on the car as it was waking everyone up.

If they kept doing it then complain to their emplyer if it's a works van ( they shouldn't be leaving it running for over 5 minutes, iirc)

    Why not?

Thank you, I do my best; but still, what has that got to with this thread?

You have missinterpreted what I was saying, you suggested the noise issue was coming from someone that was unapproachable??
That's the issue from what I recall the op hasn't tried, to approach them, which has to be the 1st thing.

Regarding the cyclist thing and I admit that I didn't catch the video, but if the traffic/vehicle is travelling at 11 mph or less, you can legitimately cross the double whites to overtake, safety allowing of course.

I'll stand correct on the 11mph thing as it's from memory.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Or you could nip out, take the keys out the ignition and recycle them by placing them into his box of waste tins? that will cure the ignorant cretin and then you can go back to bed and sleep ;)

    Chavtastic

My car can be loud if I want it to be, but normally it'll just tick over and all you'll hear is a low 5 cylinder rumble, until it's warm enough to drive off. If I give it some revs, it'll rev up to about 3k, burble, pop, crack and the chav valve will kick in lol.

Only if it's causing a nuisance.

Look some common sence has to be injected at some point.

OP, talk to them and make it clear they are creating a nuisance. That sets the tone. After that it gets better or it doesn't. No amount of opinion on here can tell you your next actions, You live with it or act...

Yeah its either 10 or 11 Bri but think its 11mph and applies to things like road sweepers too.

Regarding the OP, I don't see the point in upsetting neighbours unecessarily and have been in a similar situation myself but got it sorted the same day(had a pipe replaced for a straight through one which made increased performance but also noise)-about 20 mins before my neighbour came out to complain abut the noise in the morning.
I still think the exhaust is too noisy though and have had a quote for £100(Ascar in Sheffield) to fit an extra silencer in the system.
