I'd be very interested to know if anyone has any problems with the wording used when their property gets put on the Rightmove website as some of the wording used is completely different to what is put on their own site.

We listed with Housenetwork last week and have had a few problems with them. I'm wondering whether they are just getting so busy now, that they don't have as much time anymore to pay attention to detail or maybe we have just been a bit unlucky with our experiences with them so far. Our property photos are fab though.

Why don't Rightmove accept private sellers? Isn't it discriminatory not to?

If enough people asked, insisted and demanded......we could do without EA's.

(Gotta learn to use those silly faces!)

they are a commercial co they can do what they want, ie choose thier customer.

I expect rightmove have pretty haefty charges, and as an individual seller I doubt very much that theyd ever put private sales on for less than 500 quid.

have you called them nad asked them to put it right?

I had this as bascically my HA told me my lease was99 years, so i told HN this, but then checked my lease that it was 125 years. thus I emailed them to adapt it , and they did it same day.

Under property misdiscriptions they should work on this immiediately

Ask for charlotte, shes very good in my experience.

Yes. Have sent an email also but a reply came back saying there's nothing they can do about it. I know this is not true because I spoke to Dean before and he made an amendment to the Rightmove site straight away although I got the impression it was a big effort and not an easy thing to do. TBH we have found our dealings with housenetwork stressful.

We have had a lot of probs particularly about accuracy and the presentation of the property description but don't want to fall out with with them so quickly, or at all for that matter, as our property hasn't even been on a week yet. Feels a bit like once they had our money, little interest was shown in getting us listed properly and accurately. They even marketed our property at the wrong sale price and then tried to blame us for it and we have had various excuses on other issues as well! I just hope they tell us if anyone is interested in viewing our place as they always seem so very, very busy.

So far have experience of talking to Mark, Dean and Katy. Will try Charlotte next week. Thanks.

Right move dont accept 'Private Sellers' because the are co-owned and run by Estate Agents.
  • Hi guys,
I've just enlisted the services of Housenetwork having read about the mostly positive experiences on here. I've got a guy with a camera coming round on Thursday 18th so should be "live" by early next week. Like skaterboy, I will try and keep you updated with how it all goes.

Really chuffed to get my house on rightmove as I didn't think it would be possible without paying through the nose to a high street EA.

Thanks for sharing your opinions and experiences on here - very useful.

    Nick.

Tonydee: We sold our house on the IOW with Housenetwork last March..they charged a bit extra for the consultation visit (ferry ride over) but people thinking of buying on the Island didn't seem to be put off by an online agent...in the end we sold to an Islander.

    Good luck.
Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)

    Great news !!

I almost certainly will try housenetwork first to see how it goes. For the sake of a couple of hundred quid it seems worth it.

    Thanks Canucklehead

p.s Did you head for the mainland?
  • Hi,

My update on HN, to date!

The property has been on the HN and Rightmove (plus others) site for about a week now.

I have shown two people around, and have one offer.

    I'm impressed so far!

Do I hold out for a better offer, or is it a bird in the hand........
