Some good advice here, thanks people.
Going to put our house on the market with HN in the next couple of weeks.

Thought you might find this funny..
Our agent called today and said they had a viewing booked in. Strange I thought because we stopped using them over a month ago and have recently sold through ourpropertymove. Do they update their data? The girl sounded v
There is alot to be said for doing it yourself, and wherever you advertise on the internet we found we had loads of interest more than with our agent.
I'm sure agents will always be needed for busy people or lazy people but selling it yourself and saving 4k had to be worth a little effort in doing the viewings or making a phone call..
I'd be careful of some sites as we did get junk enquires to our inbox but housenetwork.co.uk and ourpropertymove.co.uk, who we sold through have data protection terms and conditions you check when you sign up.0 -
Would anyone say that this will work better depending on the area you're selling in?
On HN there are only 3 house for sale on the Isle of Wight which concerns me a little.0 -
I am currently selling my house with an agent in Leicester, but since learning I can save £1500 by selling it on HN then I am about to change to them. (My 12 week tie-in with current agent is over anyway).
I too noticed that HN are only selling 3 properties in Leicester and this worried me at first. However, it should make no difference at all as you are still on rightmove, amongst all other houses for sale in Isle of Wight.
I like the way that HN seem to work and they appear to present houses very well.
My plan is to get HN round in the next week or so. I will keep you posted.0 -
In theory then, we'll only be missing out on the potential buyers that don't use RM or HN. Might be worth a bash.
I might even contact the current sellers on the IOW to ask their opinions on the service. No better opinion I guess.0 -
Hi,
I had HN round yesterday taking pictures and creating the tours etc. They returned again today when there was better light to take the external shots.
Other than being three hours late for my appointment, they seem to be a professional outfit.
I'll let you know how it goes from here, and how long it takes to get my house on their website, and more importantly, Rightmove!

Nice one skaterboy. Keep us informed of the progress

Likewise Skaterboy - I've just faxed off my agreement with HN too, so I'll try and keep you updated if you do the same

Hi,
My update on HN.
As I previously said, the agent was three hours late for the appointment, this meant he was taking photos and 360 photos in the dark. The results of the internal shots/360's were therefore poor when they appeared on the HN website.
The HN agent did come back the next day, to take the outside shots, I was happy with that. It was not his fault it was a dull day. My fault I guess for selling a house in winter!
I am waiting for a brighter day and take some of my own photos, and I will get them added to my particulars
HN have said that the next time their agent is local they will take some more 360 shots, although I get the feeling this will not happen
I have been impressed with the office/admin staff I have been speaking to on the phone, and via email. My requests for additional pictures to be included, pictures to be removed, descriptions to be changed etc have all be completed in very good time.
So now all I am waiting for is someone to take a fancy to the description and pictures on Rightmove! Still holding my breath.0 -
Fingers crossed for you skaterboy0
