Hi chums I went to get some shopping and got lots of fruit and veg and things that I had really been putting off buying so no where near the shops for me for at least a week now.Just to round off my expensive day I have developed a toothache and will have to go and see my lovely dentist tomorrow. He is always busy so I am hoping he can fir me in at some point next week.its under one of my crowns I am hoping he can sort it without it also costingan arm and a leg.Good job I have been fairly frugal with my food shopping this month.I managed to get lots of fruit veggies for my DD, reduced as well in the greengrocers so that will help her out as her boys all eat like horses and love lots of veg
Just off to take a pain killer I hate toothache

A proper OS day today, with a HUGE pot of ham broth on the go. It's my first use of my new 32 cm stockpot (over a foot across if you are non metric.) For the first time ever, I cooked a pot of broth and it wasn't to the brim. This stockpot was a marvellous bargain in Wilkinson's , boy will it pay for itself.

Last year I found I was eligible for a Warm Front Grant. I've been waiting for the installation company to ring. They rang!

So ... on Feb 17th, I get a new heating system, my old boiler and rads replaced! Woo-hoo!

Two learners who had dropped out of their courses are back too, so a good day all round.
Hugs to all who would like one and Jackie, glad it went well.

DH has salmon (tinned!) salad and baked potato for tea. I don't fancy that so am having stirfry veg and some left over rice from the freezer.
I have a ham shank in the freezer and will defrost it tonight and get it into the soup pot tomorrow (thanks for telling us about your ham soup mcculloch - that's what has prompted me to make some too!)
Off to check the forecast as this is back to brass monkey weather and I just want to make sure we're not in for snow!

    £80 for a tyre:eek: that's extortionate.

Actually I don't think that is :o My dad works for a tyre company and they sell them for significantly more than that :o
If you buy something like a re-mould or a re-tred then yes I would say it was expensive.
I so agree with you about Colin Firth, he is a fab actor and so not a heart throb. Be what you are, and be proud of it, I say!
