Morning all,
on here a little earlier today. Last day at work this week for me so won't be back until next monday now.
Porridge for breakfast, had to bring in what was left of the loaf this morning for my lunch to have as toast. Kids very kindly left me the crusts so will use them up with potted meat. Yummy. Tea tonight is going to be roast pots with left over chicken and beans.
Need some advice please, I have some scones left in the cupboard that I don't want to give to the birds like I usually do. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can make them into a desert for the kids tea tomorrow. Do you think I could make some kind of egg custard thingy or cheesecake with that as a base? Sorry, I am not a cook but I hope to change that this year so please help if you can. Ive got eggs, milk, soft cheese in, custard in packet. Thanks if you can.

Hmmm only thing that springs to mind is bread and butter type pudding?
Morning my lovelies
Gorgeous sunshine this morning which made the frost look all glittery and pretty
No major OS plans today. Want to make some bread and I need a kick up the 'arris to get some housework done later. Been a bit slack in that area
Jackieg - Hope your first day back goes well my lovely xx
imataloss - enjoy your trip into Brum this morning. I went in the other day and have to say I've not missed my daily commute there at all
OK had better get on.
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Lou – your banoffee pie looked fab!
Jac - thinking of you this morning, good luck!
Should be a NSD day today unless I fancy some choccie as it's my TOTM
Stayed in last night after all as didn't feel too good and had a takeaway pizza, not very OS I know but just fancied it!
Might have peppers stuffed with flavoured couscous and feta cheese tonight for dinner.
Not very busy at work so I think I'll do some freebie hunting and comp entering.
Hope everyone has a good day.

¡Hola!
Just waiting for the WM to finish to get the bedding out before we go and check out the chairs we saw the other day, and get a new gas heater. Ours works for a while then switches itself off and will not re-start. Also need a new bottle of gas. On the food side Bananas and mushrooms are needed.
JG hope everything is going well
We have a small problem with our boiler, it looks we have a very small leak from radiator pipework under the floor. BG have it covered but as it still works and everyone has been without heating due to boiler breakdowns during the v. cold weather have left it until we return home, as was not taking floors up over Xmas. Jayward still thinking of you, hope they get the part soon and you get heating on.
Right WM finished be back later. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
JackieG- hope today goes well for you hun.
EA been on again.another viewer on Saturday-whats going on.But her house isnt even on the market-if she likes ours she'll put it up straight away.Still ,can't complain about the interest ths year,I thought it would be worse than last year.I think ours is still too dear, but DH is reluctant to drop again- when you've built it with your own 2 hands over 2 years ,and put so much care into it ,it must be hard.
The other thing that keeps crossing my mind is that there is no way we'd get such a good deal on a mortgage as we have now,so potentially we could end up paying quite a bit more each month for something smaller.
My lunch out today is cancelled as one of my friends went home from school ill yesterday.:( So I might go to town as I bought a top that does not flatter me at all.DH says the tops I make look better and much nicer
,so perhaps call in on the market and see my cheapy fabric man- I can make 5 for what the bought one cost (10 if his sale is still on ! :rotfl:)DS1 has to take some jeans back to R!ver !sland as there is some stitching coming undone, nearly £50 and he only got them last week  .I could easily mend them, but thats not the point really when they are so new.
Tea tonight is reduced price lamb chops, sausages for DSons as they're not keen.
Off to do some swishing etc. keep on top of it while its clean and tidy.
Ally- I would slice the scones and put them in the bottom of a dish, cover them with an egg custard mix-like Bitsy said its like bread and butter pudding.Posh chefs use other things besides bread so should be fine.:):heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all! Everyone seems to be really positive today, hope it keeps up and good luck jackieG! jackieg sounds like you should be on TOTP2 with a perm and a crop top dancing to some synth
or is that just me? hmmm
I have my last and hardest exam at two today, then it's straight to the student's union for a few drinks, then round my neighbours for a few drinks, then out for a few drinks... Maybe I'll clean the bathroom under the influence to feel a little more OS? It's also mine and ex-OHs anniversary which I shall be trying to forget about.
Did anyone here watch the Joy of Teen Sex last night? I could hear all the boys in my flat shrieking when the bloke got the PA piercing :rotfl: my friend who has one says it doesn't even hurt that much but the boys were shuddering for the rest of the show.
ahhh yuck, i have just begun a battle with HDNL to find two parcels they claimed to deliver on tuesday but haven't, have emailed hdnl and the companies. Any tips on how to speed this up or am I !!!!!!ed?Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
