    make some of those mincemeat slices with a stiff shortbread dough and sprinkle the top with caster sugar

    just my problem this weekend.I am going to mix the mincemeat with a cooked bramley apple and top it with a quick crumble mix. hope that helps

    Ive seen recipes that use mincemeat instead of dried fruit in a fruit cake (think it might have been a Mary Berry recipe).
    My favourite is to use it as the filling in baked apples !
  • i had some left and made an apple crumble - and spread the mincemeat over the apples before topping with crumble - mmmmmmmmmm custard oh yes thankyou very much lol x

    i've kept a half used jar of mincemeat in the fridge for over a year, it just crystalized a bit on top. after a mix and a bit of scotch added it loosened up and i used it in more pies.
    Cats don't have owners - they have staff!! :D:p

  • In the grocery challenge (page one) there is a recipe for plain muffin Arran, I would use this with a couple of tablespoons of micemeat mixed through just before you mix the wet and dry together.
