Why not make some baked apples for pud with mincemeat in the core and use it up?

good idea & if you use it, you can replace it with some of the, 17p a jar, on offer at sainsbury's at the moment :)
  • It was 8p a jar in my Saino's this morning Chris25. I think I might have a go at an apple strudel and try to use it up, thanks everyone

  • could you make up some mince pies & freeze them uncooked so that next Christmas all you have to do is pop them in the oven

they might be the normal size ones? the 17p jars are the large 822gm size & they also have 1.5ish kilo tubs for 30p - cheap as chips :D

  • Hi everyone I have a lot of Mince meat left over from Christmas and normally I would just bin it but with trying to be good I really don't want to does anyone have any ideas what I could do with it? Apart from Mince pies of course.

How about using it up in a fruit cake - http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/24613/easy-mincemeat-fruit-cake.aspx - sounds  from the reviews on there.

I used some of mine up on Monday in a mincemeat cake search google or this is the link to the one that I made.

You could also mix with other fruit like apple/pear for pies/ crumble or strudel
