I know I shouldn't expect much service wise (I have nothing against their food now and then) but the service I experienced last night was appalling.

Afer the fireworks yesterday some friends of mine decided to pop in to get a quick snack as we hadn't eaten. It was 11.20. There were about 5 staff behind the counter gossiping. As usual at this time half the restaurant was closed off.

The other half was disgusting... every table was COVERED in wrappers and other rubbish. The manager was there and was doing nothing - didn't seem to care. I made the mistake of going to the toilet - it was flooded in spilt drinks, wrappers and who knows what else.

I returned to table and the people on the table next to us were asked by the manager to leave. They were still drinking their coffee and looked pretty !!!!ed off. 2 mins later the manager came back and asked us to leave. I refused saying it's only fair that we are allowed to finish our food in peace (bearing in mind I had been sat down for about 7mins).

The manager then said no and that he had to close because it was 11.40 (I'm assuimg they shut at 11.30). This was even more annoying as it wasn't even 11.30 as we pointed out.

I wouldn't have minded if they had said anything when we ordered - even just "take-away only now" but this was shocking to me.

The hit list:
Disgusting customer service.
Filthy restaurant
Lied to by the manager.

They can refurb their stores as much as they like but if they don't sort this out their profits will continue to slide.

Have called today to complain so will let you know the outcome!

Disgusting service, I'm totally hacked off with them too :mad: Was in a rush so popped in for a veggie deluxe meal (can't stand the big mac's or chicken burgers!) to take out. Got to work which is about 3 mins away and whe whole meal ended up in the bin:rolleyes: Veggie burger was actually a chicken burger in veggie packaging, its a good job I am not a vegetarian (but they don't need to know I'm not!!) Fries were stone cold and milkshake was EXTREMELY thick and tasted bitter, way too much syrup or whatever they add. Oh and to top it off I didn't get a scratch card that I assume I should have got. Have emailed them & am awaiting a response!

Good luck guys, I am glad you have complained. They really do seem to be sliding downhill these days & it's totally unacceptable! (went to KFC recently and it was just as bad!!)

P.S. Thought the thread was about the MacDonald bros on x factor at first!! lol

Service like this should be brought to the attention of the newspapers. An article or two, seen by the management, will concentrate their minds on their work beautifully.

One of my boasts ' Have never eaten in a MacDonald's or similar type place'. A chippy is the most I will do.

If it is so bad why go there?

the local mc D restuarants are much the same, half wit staff and filthy dirty inside

i prefer to stop off at a local chip shop where usualy they are owner operated and have some kind of pride in serving you

Sounds like their usual level of service. Have visited them 3 times in my (adult) life - the last time the counter staff was happily chatting away to some chav whilst I was very much apparent in waiting to be served. I interrupted their conversation and asked to place an order. Counter staff said "I am PAID to talk to customers, you know, inni". Nuff said.

got 2 cheeseburgers from there on monday. they were foul.

also never got a scratchcard.
