  • Rang tc, as I've not even had a provisional award and apparently my case had been on hold waiting of me calling. With luck it should be through quicker now. Just as well I had rung or I'd still be waiting in September!
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • It's so hard when relationships aren't stable. I had a similar situation with my ex but I just never let him move in officially. He stayed 3 nights max. I think if didnt make much difference to your money you should've kept it as a joint claim rather than single. If it is the same though or you would be better of as JT I don't see why there is an overpayment?

No, it makes no sense whatsoever to have built up ANY over payment as when calculated, in my circumstances if anything I was worse off claiming as single. I'm not quite sure how the advisor calculated I would be £13 per week better off had a claimed as a couple though because when I used the online tax credit calculator, it came out exactly the same.

To add to this situation, I received a letter this morning from the letting agency who not only has charged me a late payment fee but has also stated that unless I pay my rent straightaway, a end of tenancy notice will be served ! I'm only 8 days late and up until now, I have always paid early. I tried to explain that I can't pay straight away due to my tax credits being stopped however I don't think it will make any difference.

In desperation I phoned Tax credits to explain the dire situation and to see if they could help however the lady I spoke to said that it can take up to 3 weeks for them to receive the claim once I've posted it ?????????? I asked her where on earth it went to from being placed in the post box to being delt with and she said that at times the claims get lost or end up in the wrong offices !
Once they do have it on the system, it can then take another 3 weeks on to to process

I really have no idea how I will survive until the payments come through :(

Can anyone who has dealt with the compliance team shed any light on how long after you send in evidence does it take to finalise claim. We have been underpaid by quite a bit and are bloomin skint i keep checking the bank every day but the overdraft stays the same...sigh.....

Mine took about 3 weeks. You should contact your designated compliance officer to find out how things are progressing and a timescale. I was contacted by mine after sending docs requesting a copy of my council tax bill, this took time for the council tax office to send me a copy. The compliance officer had my bank statements showing the payments each month, but still wanted the bill.

Just checking in... still havent heard anything about my renewal, or received any overpayment.

Got a bog standard letter saying they have until 20th Sept to investigate my complaint:eek:

Its an absolute joke really, i was reading on here the other day about a woman who rung up on 1st aug (after the 31 July deadline...) and received her overpayment 4 days later docs 9 days later, but i did it by the book and am now being messed about.
  • Ive not even had my provisional award, and every day I check the bank incase there has been something in... (I earned 19k less than normal last year, due to maternity leave)

As my regular payments have not stopped, all 18 pounds of them, I will just carry on. Would be nice to know what we are entitled to this year, like to keep my budgets right.

  • How annoying. I received an actual reply to my complaint on Friday. They basically just apologised I wasn't happy with the service I received and that my renewal has now been sorted. Hopefully by this time next week you will have it sorted. So frustrating let's just hope it's taking this long because it's a large payout and they're being extra cautious!

annoying isnt it? thats the same for me, i like to be able to budget, especially with xmas and everything coming up, even more annoying is that my DS is getting 3 year funding soon, so i'm going to have to go through it all again to report a change.
