quick question my tax credits have been paid in my bank early always get paid on a monday but looked on my bank account today and my weekly payment has gone in today ?? any ideas why ?

Mine went in on friday too instead of today. I havent had a payment today, and I'm not in Scotland so it wasn't because of the Bank holiday. I renewed a few weeks ago but haven't heard anything.

My tax credits seem to go in on the Monday now, where as before it was the Tuesday.

I've managed to ring and ask about the payment being on friday and not today, apparently it was because of the Bank Holiday - it can affect banks regardless of where you are in the UK. So no extra payment for me just an early one. HTH ☺

My renewal was dealt with very quickly, approx 8 days and I have received the paperwork. I have noticed though that I am getting on amount until January and then another rate - slightly higher.

I do not want to have to call them to ask why would anyone know?

It jumps by about £18 in January?
  • I too did my renewal at the beginning of May and 12 weeks on am still waiting! Have phoned them several times only to be told its waiting to be processed. Once 8 weeks had passed I asked to speak to the Complaints Manager but was put through to a team leader instead. He was the most unhelpful and unpleasant person I have ever spoken to on the TC helpline! He had a very thick Liverpudlian accent and spoke very fast. When I interruped to say that I didn't understand what he was talking about he said "can you let me finish please I'm trying to help you". He said this several more times before I was forced to listen to him rabble on for 20 further minutes whilst making other condescending remarks. In the end he discovered he had misunderstood my query and realised I was in actual fact I was calling regarding an underpayment to which he said "why didn't you say that in the first place". If the cheeky sod had let me speak I would have!!!! I ended up writing a letter of complaint about the delay and his attitude.

Complaint letter received 23/7 and acknowledged a week later with them confirming they will respond fully by 2/9. I called helpline yesterday as wanted to check my detail were right as a couple of mistakes on my provisional award. Spoke to a very helpful man who explained that there are a lot of renewals needing to be checked still as a slight mistake could lead to the person getting too much or too little. He did say I was tier 1 due to me filing a complaint. He also said he would send a message to response team. I don't expect anything this week as from past experience I think the payments would already be showing on their system if I was.

Its sooooo annoying!! I'm in my 11th month of maternity leave and so in the eyes to TC I am unemployed and have to claim income support. My TC last year were based on me earning £16,000 when in actual fact I earned £11,400. Taking off £2,600 for 26 weeks on SMP thats £8,800 which means I'm due quite a substantial underpayment. I am seriously running out of cash having ran up my credit card and sinking lower than ever into my overdraft. I wish they'd hurry up!!!

If you're still waiting for an underpayment make sure you let us know on here when you do and lets all hope its sorted soon!!! Does anyone else think its a conincidence that there are major problems this year and we have a new Government???

    PSx

i to renewed mine in may and it was supposed to be done by july the 1st i spoke to that very arrogant man he tried making me out to be a lair and i have also got underpaid last year my income 09/10 was £10595 10/11 £7400 - £3500 taking off for smp so my renewel was £3900. they tried putting my income down for £11000 for 11/12 when in fact it is about £7000 they are very incompetent this year its got something to do with the TORIES. ive just contacted my LABOUR mp to sort this out because our new goverment and tco are !!!!! I think its got something to do with the underpayments they just dont want to pay them out lol

i think were due and underpayment too as DH hours were cut at work so he has earned about £3000 less than we said he would.

Is it a coincidence everyone who seems to be waiting is due some money back!!?
