i would like to see all posts that require daily or weekly entries and/or answers in the regular board and linked to in the appropriate sticky there. eg glamour's daily, sugarscape, company daily.
comps that can be entered once only if you choose but more often if you like for the one prize could be posted in regulars or on main with a link in the regular sticky (the important bit is adding link to the sticky no matter where they are posted), eg hello, sci fi, femail, girl, wotv etc (seems they are the ones causing most upset and argument over being moved).
so basically any comp that will require the thread bumping by posting details of new prize and/or answer more frequently than once every month in regulars, and any that entering just once still counts as an entry to the same draw that people entering more than once get extra entries rather than entries for a different prize.
thus the only time a thread on main needs replying to is to state its not working, or point out a previously not working link is now working and any thread requiring replies would be on the regular board for anyone who chooses to look for them.
i feel that posting comps that require daily answers as a new thread is making more work than is necessary for the bgs as one thread to be moved each month say is one thread instead of the 31 that posting a daily as brand new thread every day entails.
can we please have the expired button in regular forum? id like the entered button too, but thats not so important.0 -
I'm with everyone else - please can all comps be posted on the main board. I, like many others, barely have time to do the main board, let alone regulars, so it seems those comps are just sitting there with no-one having the time/inclination to do them!
Thanks Andrea!0 -
im relatively new to comping compared to a lot on here. personally i dont go on the regulars board as i work my way through the main board and like someone else has said i save any regular comps i want to re-enter in a folder in my favourites then everyday i start with those, then on a saturday i do weeklys and do monthlys on the first of month. i can see how the reg board could be good for people who comp by end date (i hadnt really thought of doing that but may try that for a while) so for what its worth my opinion would be to leave the comps on the main board but link to the regulars so that we can all benefit from them.
Can i just take this oppotunity to thank everyone who posts comps on here good luck to you all xxxx0 -
I can't see how we could post every single days comp individually, ie battery comp, etc, and I admit to being confused how if people can't occasionally pop over to check for any new comps to regs, how they would find time to run a search in the HUGE main comps section to get to enter them before the final draw - if there were multiple draws??? I don't mind them being posted in main and also in regs but with the threads linked together in OP as I have seen in the past
After plowing through the regs board, I can understand now what people were saying more. Things that cleared up for me were that some comps need either the regs board or some way to identify comps that would benefit from early entry. You also have all the one off no end date comps that need a home, etc.My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly
Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx0 -
I've seen a lot of people say that they enter the dailies without using the thread, can I ask why? Is there anything else that you'd find helpful on the thread?
Also for people that comp by end date and enter the regulars from bookmarks what I was getting at it how do you discover the threads to bookmark them in the first place?
Do you just scan the titles of all comps posted that day to check for any?
If so, do you find it difficult that the indicator of it being daily etc is posted differently (in a different format, sometimes after the date and sometimes at the end of the title, and sometimes not at all until you open the post) by different OP's?
Personally I find it very difficult to scan through comps as they're posted without actually sitting and entering them as they're posted and opening them all up.
I find it difficult to spot specific things from each title at a glance as there's so much going on on the page and everyone does their own titles a little bit differently.0 -
Going to add my 2 pence worth! 9 out of 10 times, I stick to the main board. If I have some spare time, I may check out the regulars board. To be honest though, if there are going to be changes, I'd like some clarification about what constitutes a "regular" comp? In my mind, some of the ITV comps could be classed as regular as they are either posted daily or weekly. Will we now be seeing the Loose Woman comps on there as there is generally a comp every week? Likewise GMTV? Will we now be seeing the Real Deal comps be posted in the Dailies as there is a new comp posted daily when the programme is on?0

just a couple of points to discuss
a lot of people are asking for all comps on the main boards with links to reg comps in the regs board, but if it is decided to put all comps on the main board there wouldn't be a regs board
and would all the draw type comps, with no end date, cause problems as they would all be on the main board too
I think we would still need a regulars board, because even if people dont want to enter a comp regularly, and just enter it the one time they see it on the main board, that might still be the winning entry!
As i said earlier with regard to end dates, even now with one entry comps, we dont always know the end dates and one is guessed. With 'no end date' comps, as i suggested earlier, we could put the end of the year as the end date and then anyone who enters once will pick it up at some point, and on the regulars board, when it is added, it can be added without an end date.0 -
I also think that comps should be posted on the main board and a link sent to regular board.0

I am another who doesnt venture too much onto the regulars board, apart from the daily one now and then
In my opinion it would be good to see as many competitions as possible on the main board.
I also want to thank everyone who takes the time to post questions, update threads - purchase magazines, fill out competition answers, confirming answers, giving out advice and information, offering the chance for everyone here to enter on a huge variety of outstanding competitions.
Lots of love xx
I always give thanks by the thankyou button. xxWishing you all good luck!

I think people possibly mean the stickies when they say place a link on the regs board?
I'm assuming the stickies could remain? And for simpicity (and less stickies on the main board) could they (the stickies) stay where they are?
Maybe along with a Regular Comps discussion board?
And/Or perhaps the regulars board could also be used for the stickies and also chat about the regular comps? The link to that post could be placed on the original thread on the main board?? It would stop the unnecessary bumping and mean people could still discuss the regulars, post new codes, etc???0
