so it is a reg if the question / answer / prize stays the same?
then I would say that the comps mentioned above, which are posted as a new comp each time the prize etc changes, (not one thread with changes in it) and has changed to daily entry would be classed as a reg under that definition
because in each thread posted the question / answer / prize does stay the same and it can be entered more than once
(but the reason people wanted an official definition is because people do see things differently)
sorry, i don't see that,
the sci fi ones & WOTV have a different prize for each entry,
if you want to enter it more than once then it's the same one you're entering,
but then another one comes on the site with a different prize so that's a different one :rotfl:please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

According to the rules of those comps, you can only enter once per day. So it becomes a daily, not a multiple entry. Nisa comps would be multiple entry because you can enter 100 times but would probably prefer not to do it all in one go. (I'm not actually responding directly to you korky and I'm not having a go, just explaining it differently)
I completely understand that you can create your own bookmarked file/spreadsheet to keep track of multiple entry comps - I just thought the idea of this forum was so you didn't have to do it yourself and the boards did it for you?
Keep them on the main boards by all means as long as they still get linked to a sticky for people who enter them each day.Living with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -
Actually I think I was wrong:o
Spurred on by this discussion and the thought that I might be missing out on more comps than previously I have spent the past day looking again at the regulars board....... the stickies are fantastic! I entered all the weeklies for the first time in years yesterday with very little trouble and intend to plough through the monthy ones now too.I tried in the past but found it confusing... either I got less stupid or the system has been refined since then:D
Quick question (probably stupid, sorry)...... do the stickies include EVERY current weekly/monthly/daily that is in the pages of the regulars board? If that is the case, I can't see what difference it makes where the orig posts get put, but hey, that might be me making another snap judgement;)
Thanks so much to those who compile the stickies, the board guides and of course those who post the comps/answers. Without you all, most of us wouldn't even BE comping!:AMain Board for me as i have never used regular comps thread....would not know where it is (LOL)mintymoneysaver wrote: »Now this makes perfect sense! Things would only be worse now with many more comps of all types.
I've just chosen a few posts to quote
for everyone just saying 'main board only for me' do you mean 'I only want to use the main board' or 'I want the regs board to disappear and have every comp posted on one board from now on'?
and also how many people saying 'main board only' knew there was regs board? and have looked at it
to say 'main board only' may mean we end up with just the one board for comps and before any poll would it help if people who have never visited the regs board had a quick look at it (probably the first few pages and the last few pages as an example) and visualised how the main board, as it is now, would look with an extra 23 pages of comps mixed in, with a lot of different title formats
at least then anyone voting on a poll would be aware of how the both boards look and how things might look if they were merged into one board
I've put a link below to help
and thanks for looking

Glad I think that what this thread is telling us is that there is no 'right way' to arrange the boards as everyone comps using their own system. Neither those using the main board or those using the regs board should have to be inconvenienced or miss out on comps if the boards are arranged in the way being suggested by purplebutterfly (and others) above. I would like to think we have moved beyond needing a poll now, and can simply use the system that is fairer for everybody
The endless chicken/egg question of what kind of comp it is doesn't really matter as long as the link is put in the daily/weekly/monthly threads and the comp left on the main board. The way BHG has arranged the dailys now covers all types of multiple entry/daily with changing prize or question etc anyway.2008 wins £4405 2009 wins £7194 2010 wins £9615

I knowjust wanted to clarify the reason why Sci-fi etc was considered daily and not multiple and it was helpful to use your post as a starting point. You are worth your weight in gold

I'm sorry if I offended you. It's not the comment that bothered me, it's just the continued repeating of it
No you didn't offend me, but I'm sorry that you thought that I was being personal and attacking Glad,
this was my fault entirely by including one simple word in my post "certain" which I have now stricken from my post
as for repeated comments isn't that what everyone is doing! just going round and round in circles0 -

That's bit optimistic isn't it? :rotfl: I'm sure we could manage a 400-page argument about that too!:pLiving with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0
