regular i believe is someting that is more 'than once' and 'never ending' if it has an end date, its not really regular unlike these e.g's

e: daily - watches shop
e: weekly - battery force
e: monthly - tic watches

it doesnt matter on the frequency of entry in any given perdiod up to the 'E:' date, its not regular because it has a termination point and may not be repeated, if it is, then let the OP who posted it the momth before and checks to see if its repeated post is as new to the main board and have it 'linked only' to regulars - there is no point moving the post into the regular board so its just sitting there a few posts down from the reg sticky thread where the link within that takes you only a few posts/pages further into that board

my idea of those stickies is to help ppl who like to enter D/W/M comps find them in the easiest possible manner no matter where they are posted on mse, if theyre just gonna direct you to the comp elsewhere on that particular board, you're gonna find it without the help of the sticky because that is your board you like to use and so will see it anyway

I dont know why we couldnt go back to the old way and have those posted on the main board with the title E: 31/01 Daily entry win a tv. the monthly, weekly with no end date could stay on the regular board as they have been for years with no problems.

I think the best solution is to go back to how they were. The daily ones with end dates and different questions be posted on the main board and all the regulars stay where they are.

now if you could please just amend your post here as this appears to be what Glad was working from since she started as BG appx 6'ish months ago and thats what caused all of this turmoil, not blaming Glad, as i said before it seems she was obv only trying to do her 'job' to the best of her ability, which although i am sorry to have to say it, appears was more efficient than any other BG before her or else this would have been a bigger issue before now, seeing as what you wrote has been in place for almost SIX years now, or is it only more like just over TWO, i mean what part of your post wasnt written by you when Dalkirst edited it :question:

There are lots of good suggestions on this discussion and I have to say I agree with Diva too, why not just leave it as it was before?
I also like Munchkims idea....if the comp has an end date to it...put it on main forum.
What about changing the 'regulars' name to miscellaneous or other comps if folk cannot agree on what is a regular?

I know the BG's and lots of others have worked hard on the comps forum to make it easier for everyone but I guess it's down to the individual if they choose to enter the regular comps thread or not. I hope we can all agree in the end maybe through a poll.

Dalkirst...I also think that is a great idea too of just having the one forum. Would save a lot of confusion.

yes cinders, and that is the whole point. We don't mind posting comps, that's not the issue. But I stopped posting when these (and others) with end dates were immediately moved to daily board before most peeps got a look in. I know they are daily entry, but they have an end date, and at least it gave peeps chance to add to favourites. I think we just need to go back how we used to be, post comps with an end date on main board, and if they are relevant for regular boards they can be linked there, but STAY on the main board until end date when they would get moved to GO. Funnily enought I got a WEM today saying I've won the Squash Kit, and funnily enough I think I only entered the once when I was posting it. THIS ONE though is the one that got me, I posted a comp that had end date with a particular question and a particular end date, but because it was deemed as weekly it was moved to weekly board but shown as GO. I had searched and because I wasn't in the loop I didn't know it was a weekly. Again, the Glamour one is a daily but with an end date, so I think it should be the same, on the main board, linked to dailys.

I think, just go back how we were, post to main, linked to regular boards for those who want them, but leave on main board until GO.

I know we're all different, but that's the only way I can see that suits everyone :money:

Ok am I the only one who now has an uncontrollable urge to dash to the regulars board to see what I have missed entering.....

Seriously I had no idea some comps were being moved there and so I have missed them all. I don't have time regularly to trawl through extra boards so have only ever used the main one, plus on a quiet day I do some of the dailies on Gilla's list

I hopw whatever is decided on the finer points, the comps present themselves on the main board, as many of us will miss out if they aren't

I think the main board should have all the competitions with an end date posted on them, even if they are daily just like Munchkim has said above. It's too much for an old brain like mine to cope with other boards as well as the main one.

I also don't go on the Regulars Site, So I would rather all comps on the main one, I think we should keep the Dailys, Weekly etc though.

Hi, yup everything would be on one board but if the posts have been 'tagged' as daily, weekly, monthly then you could choose to hide or show them. For example there maybe some check boxes at the top of the forum that you tick to show all posts with a particular tag, untick to hide posts with that particular tag.

So for example when you make a post there is a list of check boxes which you can just tick to tag the post as a daily, weekly or monthly.

You could take the tagging even further... have tags for facebook comps, twitter, purchase req, effort etc.

If you've used ebay it's kinda like the check boxes down the left when you do a search.

Anyway it's just a suggestion. Probably too much effort for the webmaster to implement.

I GUARANTEE that if you merge all dailies into the main comp thread (and totally discard the regulars board)that you will miss out on entering loads.

Dailies that are entry each day will need to be bumped each day or they will end up on page 200 and you won't find them until they end. Then you will all moan again.

As requested earlier, PLEASE look at the regulars board before you condemn it.

How is reading a list of comps in one single post a "trawl"? Searching every single day for new regular posts is a trawl.

It is really annoying me now that people are knocking it before trying it and therefore being incredibly insulting to Gilla, BHG and PPD - they spend ages collating all the comps into one thread so that we don't have to look any further than the stickies!

Honestly, it is one post on a stickied link with every daily comp listed. The sticky is always at the top of the page. You managed to find this sticky thread so it beats me why you can't find any other

Amd yes, I am being rude and going off topic because people are frightening others off the regulars board by making it into some monster that you need a PhD to access.

And if you don't have time to enter an extra 40 comps, then you won't have time to enter them on the main board either. So that argument holds no water whatsoever and is frankly quite bizarre.
