Its all really about taking responsibility for what we post, the panto thread is a great example of how good fun can be had by all participating and having a laugh and was why the Arms was set up in the first place.
and who on earth told you look good in green0 -

Thank you for all your posts, it has made an interesting read.
Personally I dont think the Arms and DT should be about money saving but I do think 'online sex' talk should not have a place on MSE. I think the most interesting or amusing threads have been achieved without it.
I would be interested to know the opinion at Money Saving Towers....?!!
Anyway, my purpose was not to offend, hence the lack of links, but I have enjoyed reading through this, even those who dont agree with me (they will be punished!!;))

I agree with you hun, I know I've fallen foul having a bit of banter, but I do try to post in a way where it isn't offensive.
Think of some films, where there are (what are those things called???!) saucy jokes which will go straight over kids heads but which adults will find very amusing and cotton on straight away.
Flirting never hurt anyone, but practically offering yourself to someone on a plate isn't right for a public discussion board which children can use.
I know most of it is posted in jest, but I've seem some posts lately which have made me blush and I'm not shy at all
I'm probably guilty of a few offensive posts too, but what do you expect from a gobby plastic scouserTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
there has been discussion about this subject before

I have to say I have thought about saying I dont find things appropriate because my 10 year old god daughter uses the site a lot (which she does ) but actually she really doesnt seem to care about the "rude" talk ( I care that she she sees it though I really do) So therefore I am left with no excuses and have to admit that I really dislike it myself.:o
Granted there are some threads where you can almost predict which characters will come on and post abuse but what annoys me is where there is a really nice, normal thread going and someone thinks its really funny to throw in a swear word or a sex term - I have an example in mind from this weekend but wont say anything as it would highlight one individual
Imho it is rarely that funny and it is rarely clever to use abusive or smutty language but whilst we are part of such a large community I guess we have to accept that the boundaries will be different for all of us. I think its best to just report the posts and let the team decide.0 -

Hmm, interesting SG
Yes i get bothered by blatent smut but if the person giving it, gets it bk then at least its not unwanted harasment. Its shouldn't be on the forums any age can read, maybe their should just be like an arms for the smut to take place- or better still, people control themselves, and post smut where it belongs, nellys place, or chatrooms
