Hi all,
With deals coming at us from all angles by the different supermarkets, I wanted to know if its, just me who bulk buys, or are there others out there also?
I have bought:
17 bottles of sainsburys basic shower 300ml gel (10p each)
15 bottles of fairy liquid (two for a pund at) Asda
5 colgate toothpaste in a pump using a free gift voucher
lots of bottles of fabric conditioner from Asda
lots of blue ocean shower gel from boots (free using a loyalty card)
5 bottles of free niva shower gel from a free local chemist
spicy chicken £1.00 a box from asda
anyone else?

What deals last week at Morrisons and week before I saved around £1.50 on BOGOF, I used to save at least £20+ per week stocking up. Tesco dont see much better either. I dont have an Asda nearby.
I see no sign of good deals not stuff we have at home, I noticed prices jumped up £1.59 Pepsi to £1.79 now, cat milk £1.80 to £1.95, products getting smaller to but thats not recent thing0 -
I always bulk buy providing it is tinned or dry goods with a very long shelf life. I am still drinking coffee that I bought 3 years ago. I still have a box of John West Red Salmon that I bought from Sainbury's before the price doubled overnight. God knows how old are my toilet rolls. I will be be stocking up with sugar at Morrisons while it is 49p/kg.
My Mother always said that you have to speculate in order to accumulate - I cannot remember when I shopped for the items previously mentioned. I will probably get a nasty surprise when I need to, but that won't be for a year or two yet!
The only things I am wary of buying in bulk are the perishables and perhaps some frozen (not all) foods. If I buy too many spuds at a reduced price, they usually sprout before getting eaten - but I cook them for my chickens and get lovely fresh eggs - so all is not lost!
I am lucky, my wife divorced me and I managed to hang on to the 4 bed family home, so have enough storage space - but a bit lonely!!0 -
Most supermarkets wont let you buy more then 10 of one product, OP you were lucky to have gotten 17 of anything! The reason they have this rule is to make it fair for everyone, so everyone can take up the offers. Hope there was some left for everyone else...0

Personally, I am wondering what to do with the 60 tins of Branston beans I bought when they were 4 for a quid.
I got a bit carried away.

Lol, I`m as bad as you, dont have a car, but I`m getting 4 packs a day. Everyone loves beans, and they can be used in everything. I do it everytime this offer is on and usually run out before the offer is back on again.0 -
Yes but only on stuff we know is going to get used.
The recent deal on loo rolls at Costco is good.0 -
Yes, count me in, I always stock up when things are on offer. Its Coco pops at Tesco at the moment.......0

I do this too, but only on non-perishables as I only have a small fridge and freezer.
There's a mountain of toilet roll, and good stocks of tinned tomatoes and tuna. Kitchen roll is starting to be depleted. When I first got my Costco card and went on my first expedition I got a bit carried away and stocked up on enough cleaning products to last a life time (there were a lot of special offers that month)."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

I'm doing this too... I have 5 months of Loo Roll and 8 months of Kitchen Roll, 6 months deodrant, and shampoo, and washing liquid, 3 months washing powder.... and a couple of months of canned goods and some perishable goods too!
My freezer is so full I couldn't do my normal butchers shop this time!
I just had to re-arrange the games cupboard to store the loo roll!!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240
