    Thanks for all the hints and tips but I am on the

    No buying toiletries challenge and it is really hard when I shopping not to look for the bargains.

    I am trying not to have such a big stash of stuff especially toiletries:eek:

    However, sometimes it is too much of an opportunity to miss the deals, especially if you have got room to store the extra stuff :D

    I have an old sideboard full of:

    * boxes of 20 fruit tea bags. These are quite dear at full price so I stock up on twinnings fruit teas whenever they are on offer. I have around 40 boxes!
    * deodorant, shampoo for DH, soap and shower gel. Other than deodorant and shampoo I keep very little shower gel and soap in stock as the 99p store always stocks the soap
    * vitamins
    * cereal (the only thing that worries me about storing food as I read pests can eat through cellophane and card)
    * tinned toms and custard from costco (not impressed with their tinned toms so will be looking for a different brand)

    and I also have a loo roll mountain (I stopped buying more when I worked out I had a 7 month supply in stock :rotfl:) and about the same length supply of laundry liquid!

    I feel pleased to have a stash and was inspired, like another poster, with the idea of saving on goods we always use - I read someone on MSE saying he paid around 40% less on essentials by doing this. I'm not at his saving level but am convinced it all helps. I am also very brand loyal so I find I can get the same produce on offer in several stores over a period of time.

  • Just came back from Asda. They currently ave bottles of fairy liquid, three for £2. I have bought 12 bottles for £8.00, I think that is good, as they usually cost £1.00 a bottle if bought single. anyone else bought fairy?
    Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!
  • Yep, I bought 6 bottles too :) its a really good deal, and good that they have all 'flavours' ! :) Ive tried every washing up liquid and nothing compares to Fairy for me.

    I also stocked up on the Dettol spray, the apple and the pink grapefruit are £1 each at the moment on the Asda deal and I use that everywhere! :)

    Ive also just been to Tesco and got the Tetley 240 teabags for £2.64, this is a really good deal, as these teabags are pretty strong (and lovely!) and each one makes 2 strong cups, you would stretch it to 3, so effectively you are getting 480+ cups. Don't know how long the offer is on for, I think somebody said 20th? but I figure its a great deal, have picked up 2 so far. I also stocked up on creme eggs up til the 8th when the 6 pack was £1.50.

    Last week in Tesco's reduced bit they had a 9 pack of Andrex loo rolls reduced to £1.75, all 9 were in there, just the packaging had ripped and been taped up. Have also been buying bread in there as they are reducing some of it when there are 2/3 or even 4 days left for the use by!

    Little thing ive noticed, I dont know if its just my Tesco, but the boxes of Cadburys biscuits (the ones with are Crunchie, Bournville and Caramel) which were I think about £4.50 at Christmas, are £1 per box, but they don't have a price on the edging, they are just on the shelf with the other chocolate biscuits in the biccy aisle with no price, but they scan at £1, they are really nice, my family all love them, I got another box to put away in the goody cupboard today, decent size box too!

    Hth.
