I have never had such well stocked store cupboards, stuffed with BOGOFs, half price offers, etc. In fact OH is currently putting up shelves under the stairs to house my steamer, food processor, George Foreman grill and 2 slow cookers, thus leaving more kitchen cupboard space for bargains!
Both freezers are packed to capacity with yellow stickered items, offers, etc. I really think we could survive for at least 6 months, shopping only for bread, milk, fruit, veg and salad stuff in the meantime.
I tell myself we really don't need to stock up any more but it's turned into an addiction!! If I see any grocery bargains I have to buy them!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

i had to put my loo rolls in the loft the other day:o
i already had two huge packs from makro under the stairs and there wasn't any room anywjere else for the other two packs i bought but when you can get 36 loo rolls for a tenner it'd be daft not to jump at the chance imo, but that meand i have over 72 loo rolls in the house:rotfl:excessive, me, never!!:j:j:j0 -
Talking toilet rolls and makro! I was going to go to Makro to get the recent offer in their mail for Triple Velvet rolls buy 18 get 18 free, with one pack being £9.25 plus 20 per cent vat which works out at about £11.10 for the two. Then i was in Iceland the other day and they had a 12 pack of triple velvet toilet rolls for £3.75, so for an extra 15p i just got 3 of them. This saved me fuel money going to Makro and back which is a bit further out of the way then Iceland which is just round the corner.0

its a standing joke in my house, any time theres any food in the fridge my OH jokes that oh look she's treating us, must have been on offer! 99.99% of the time that is true
i totally stock up, my worst ever was when i bought 48 palmolive liquid handwash from asda!! They had a mountain of it on offer at 60p one week and i got a couple, anyway a few days later they had reduced it to 40p so i got 24 for me and 24 to take to work, thought my partners would appreciate me trying to save the firm money, anyway i bought so many and wanted to pay for the 2 lots seperately the SA must have got confused because whe i got home i realised she soemhow didn't charge me at all for about 12 of them. I worked out that i got each one for 20p!
i was too embarasses to take them in to work and there is still a mountain of them in my garage!!
Following this the most bizarre thing happened to my brother in asda, they had the 72 boxes of weetabix on a couple of months ago for a silly price i think it was around £2, well he got 6 for himself and 6 for my mum. He also had about 10-12 of the same palmolive soap i had bought for 40p earlier in the week. The cashier called for assistance and 3 managers and 2 security guards came to tell him he couldn't bulk buy that many items and could only have 3 of each. He was in the shop with his wife and daughter and they could have easily split up and bought 3- 4 items each. He argued that there are no signs stating what the maximum limit that you can buy is and that with all these multibuy offers they themsleves promote bulk buying. He said it wa really intimidating and upsetting. He stood his ground with them and emailed them the next day. I think he got an apology. They still donot have signs up saying how many you can buy. If you had a big shop i have in the pastspread the items out to make it difficult for the cashier to count or realise you had a lot of one item but I think my brother was pipointed becaus ehe had just those two offer items.
PS to the person who commented about leaving things for others, have you ever been to the NEXT sale? Do you see ANYONE leaving things on the racks FOR OTHERS out of goodwill??? or in the upcoming boots sale, do you think people will leave the best items and go for the tosh so as not to be selfish? come off it, those items are on sale and there to buy, if they have a rule they should state clearly on the shelves waht the max buy is. I have had the same problem in morrisons when they had ragu sauce 3 for 2, they only let me buy 6 jars altogether. Just went back in after and got another 6 at a different till!
Would love to hear what you guys thinkGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

I too stock up on non perishables that are good deals as well as 'whoopsies'. With the bank interest being what it is, I'm better off investing in Branston beans etc rather than leaving the money in the bank.
Being a singleton, I don't need to consider others when I cook so I eat at a discount price by eating what I have in. The choice isn't really limited because I call into the shops most days after work and pick up what is a 'good deal'/reduced and freeze if necessary.
Oh yes, I too still have boxes of toiletries from the days of Tesco's Health and Beauty leaflets.
Let's keep this thread going and give everyone the heads up on what's out there.0
