Pink Giraffe - welcome to the thread! :hello:
Rosyred - sorry to hear your bad news.
JackieO - hope your DGDs get better soon.
Well, we went for a walk to the Co-op this morning to get a few groceries to allow us to use up some ingredients in our cupboard/freezer if you see what I mean! Tonight we had chicken lasagne (mine was Quorn chicken) - it was really tasty.
Mu mum and stepdad dropped their dog off this morning after we'd got back and done some washing up (all before 11am - that's unheard of for me usually!)
Then my friend came round for tea and biscuits (ones we got for Christmas).
We didn't take the dog out for a walk in the end, but will probably walk to the Co-op again tomorrow to get a paper so will take him with us. I think I've only walked there once before today. We more often walk or drive to Morrisons but I knew if we went to M today we'd spend more than we'd need to.
This afternoon DH listened to the football on the radio and I cleaned our en suite bathroom and watched a DVD. I cleaned our other two loos earlier in the week. A two-bedroom house with three loos for gods sake!!! :rotfl:
Think we're going to watch a film now and have a cuppa and eat some more leftover chocs from Christmas! Think i'll have to start being healthier tomorrow, feel bloated and yucky! Have a good evening everyone!0 -
Hi,
Rosy Red - so sorry for your loss xx
Hester - My MIL has the same condition as did her mother. Keep trying to persuade Kids Dad to take the supplements - Which ones are you trying? Hugs x
I have been out and about today. The first time since way before xmas. I had to take some stuff back to John L and thankfully they were really understanding and refunded me the full price but they were brought before I was ill so out of the usual time. I was really pleased as it was over a 100 pounds and couldn't afford to lose the difference between sale and full price:eek::eek::eek: I was craning my neck to see the goodies on display but Kids Dad was straight in and out so as not to overdo it. I also had my hair cut and coloured but that was MSE as its half the price of a salon as I moved with my hairdresser when she left to have a baby :T:T:T
So Im snuggled up in bed now and really pleased as I couldn't have done that a couple of weeks ago:T:T:T:j:j:j:T:T:T
Well baby steps i know but still steps forward not back xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
evening all!
just got back from shopping and had a yummy veggie stir fry and noodles for supper.
Got naughty little Louie a nice doggy toy from the pound shop to keep him occupied:D plus a lovely set of magenta bedding in the Tesco sale.
I also returned my M&S jeans and exchanged them for a different style.
We picked up the 6 dining chairs from Ebay that cost us £20:T very nice they are too so we are well chuffed.
Need to unpack and tidy up now before walking the dogs.
might pop back later x
Good bargin on the chairs, Iv always found with ebay that things you would think would sell for dood money goes for next to nothing and someone gets a bargin (you in this case) and totel cr&p ends up going for a song????? some of the stuff on there that i would buy for a fiver ends up going for twnety quid and im thing no way is that worth it!
Well done to you anyway:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Evening All! Missed posting on here this morning, but I do have a sparkly kitchen to show for time not spent on here! Stayed home to keep DS company today and he actually seems a bit brighter now.- in fact he's cooking supper for us.
Filled car up with diesel just now - three quarters of a tank and £71.50 spent!!!! Help!!! That's truly dreadful!
Hope you've all had good days today - will go back and read of all your doings now.
£71 will seem cheep in a few years time:eek: im sorry to say that we are all going to have to get use to high fule costs:eek:
The world we live in today and tomorrow will not be the same as the world we lived in a few years ago.
Cheep fule cheep food and cheep goods are gone. There is nothing we can do about it. The price of all will now only go up.

we got them for the opening bid. They are white painted with raffia type seats. Our old seats are similar but are falling to bits, DH has mended them a lot already and there's not much else he can do with them now. We've had quite a few bargains on Ebay for the house.
Rosyred - so sorry about your aunt x
dog walking time now!Do what you love :happyhear0 -

It's true though. I've been in the same job for nearly four years and haven't had a single pay rise so it makes it even harder when everything's getting more expensive! :eek:0 -

Thanks for the info about Shirley Goode, Jackie - Shirley must be in her late sixties / early seventies now. Many of us over a certain age will remember the programmes she was on. I was on such a restricted income at the time, and they were a godsend. I still have the books and still use many of her recipes. A cracking chocolate Floating Islands, a lovely sticky barbecue glaze and a super home made pizza are three that come to mind.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
