Hi, this is the Daily Thread for sat 15th Jan. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
I thought I'd post before the Forum closes for the day.
DS should be collecting my car at 8ish, lets hope he can sort it all out.
I'm going over to DD1's this evening with my DD2 for a girly night in.
WM is on but will have to use the TD as it's raining here & too mild to put the heating on
Full English for hubby for breakfast, I'll have scrambled egg, hotdog in rolls for tea.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning
Just dropped DH off to work, and done DW now. Waiting for WM repair man - anytime from 8am, so can't go back for a snooze. Haven't had a WM for over a week, so looking forward to his arrival.
Going to put Breadmaker on soon, as we seem to eat more bread over the weekend.
Nothing exciting planned, hoping to get some r&r this weekend.
Enjoy your Saturday.0 -
Hola!
An early one from me for a change, almost 9 here, but DH just grunted when I whispered coffee, so will leave him a while.
Market day today, so that will be my exercise as it is a mile from one end to the other, and we do it both ways from the middle where we park. DH asked last night what I wanted, and to be honest it is just a browse and get some FR eggs, and see what is new since August when we were last here, and then it is packed and you cannot see much.
B - Egg on Toast for me and cereal for DH
L - I think a salad is on the cards as I have loads of salad stuff in the fridge
D - Will put some mince in the SC for a Shepherds Pie
Did a long way on Thursday, and knew it yesterday, so took it steady, but off walking, if only round the market today. Will put some piccies on FB in a while.

Good morning! :hello:
Thought I'd pop on before the forum goes down for the day! Well I've woken up with a bad back and a cough this morning.
We're having my mum's dog from today until tomorrow so I think we'll be taking him for a walk later on. My friend is coming round later this morning for a cuppa and some biccies. (Not HM, we have lots left over from Christmas!)
I have no idea what we're having to eat today!Must get a new menu plan organised!
Hester, hope your DS can sort out your car.
Enjoy your day everybody!0 -
Hi everyone
Donny Gal - will look forward to the photos on FB!
Not much to report here. The weather is dry and mild but a bit cloudy, so I hope that changes as the day goes on.
I have lots of chores to do today so perhaps it's as well that the forum will be down for a long time! I shall miss popping in when I have my coffee breaks, though.
OS-wise, I am going to go through the cupboards and freezer and do a sort of inventory. Dinner will be sausage meatloaf. They sell stuff called farsi here which is really for stuffing; it's made of sausagemeat with herbs but makes a lovely meatloaf on its own, especially cold, so I shall cook that early so that it can be sliced up later. We'll have it with salad.
I did a lovely stir-fry last night that went down really well. I had a load of peppers to use up, so I sliced them up with some carrot and courgettes, and chicken pieces, and added a tablespoon of Thai curry paste and a splash of stuff called Arome Saveur (French - a bit like liquid OXO) - it turned out really well.
I also have to move stuff out of the spare bedroom because DH will be plasterboarding then plastering the ceiling up there. All winter it's just had silver-backed insulation on the ceiling, so I shall be glad to see it finished. Hopefully, because it's in the eaves and he can reach the ceiling himself, I won't get roped into too much labouring!
Anyway, I hope you all have a great day. Lots of (((hugs))) to poorly ones.

What shall I do with no MSE today?!!!! There is a danger of me perhaps getting soomething done
H has ended up popping into work this morning but hopefully he won't be there too long. I might pop into my local town and have a nose round with the kids. If I get in early then it shouldn't be too bad.
Not much else going on. Ned to get stuck into some card making so will try and do that later kids permitting.
Not sure what's for tea tonight, I think it is creamy sausage pasta or something. I shall have to go and check and be organised
Really dark here today and looks as though it rained again in the night. Missing some sunshine, can't remember the last time it was a bright sunny day.
Anyway need to have a coffee. Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
just popped back to send a (((hug))) to Hester - so sorry about your diagnosis xDo what you love :happyhear0

Morning all
I have a busy day so won't be affected by the forums being down!
I'm off for a haircut shortly, my hairdressers has moved to a new swanky premises so looking forward to it.
Then I'm off to Cardiff for a fish pedicure(never had one before, got a great deal on Groupon - £16 instead of £50! bit apprehensive but think I'll like it) and then dinner, and then we are going to see Mamma Mia on the stage tonight :j Can't wait!! We booked tickets over a year ago so glad it's finally here!!
OS wise - WM on now and will dry when I'm out on airer.
Have a fab Saturday all (without the forums!!)
