My other half is feeling absolutely disgusted by the fact that she just found not 1 but 2 worms in a pack of long beans
This just show how the animal rights activists have everyone paranoid about what they now do.
If the veg packers at Tesco had only put in one worm, the green brigade would have been up in arms about how they split up a loving couple and deprived them both of the right to a family life.
On the other hand, has your other half considered the possibility that it was actually only one worm? (well, up until the point she accidentally bit it in half that is)0 -

Over- reaction to the point of farce re the beans...but we did find worms in our cod once. _pale_
Took it back to the supermarket fish counter, and we were told that this is not uncommon
Got a refund and bought hadddock instead.

My sister would also have had a fit as she is really scared of worms a fact that we capitalised on as kids ( sorry sis LOL)
Last time I saw her come into contact with worms was at a Race for Life when they did the warm up, hundreds of women jumping up and down really encouraged them to come out for a party, she was almost catatonic and then we had to run ! Funny!
Anyway back on topic I don't worry about worms in food I always wash veg in case some oik has been handling the without washing their hands that could be worse than worms couldn't it?0 -

We all had a good laugh with the staff about this poor mite and got on with our lives with a new pudding.
mmm...pudding.
Oh yes, we sued and retired to the behamas with our millions.
The sad thing is, i would have still eaten the fondue...ive had a cockroach leg in a jar of mixed pickles, still ate the pickles, had a chewed fingernail complete with nailvarnish in a box of mint thins, still ate them....i think if you've got that bad a phobia, get someone else to check your veg, i hate spiders, but if i find one in a cabbage, i just put the whole leaf outside, and use the rest of the cabbage.0 -
If the beans have come from the African continent (most likely this time of year) the worms were not "loose" in the packet and washing sanitising would not have had any effect, they were most likely inside as larva etc and hatched, very expensive to x ray !
Refund of said beans, end of , nothing more nothing less.0
