  • Oh my, you do know how veg is grown don't you? Take beans of out packet, put is collander, wash - no more worms.
Personally, I wouldn't even bother compaining or asking for a refund - it happens sometimes and doesn't mean you can't eat the beans after washing them.
  • I think it would have been worse if the OP had taken a bite out of the cooked food and realised it was part worm lol.

I would not put the worms in the garden, if they are imported beans you could be releasing pests into the garden. here

I was thinking that too while reading this thread. I know someone who once found a stripey spider in some veg and on making enquiries she was told to keep it in a container till they could send someone to identify it!! Turned out to be non-venemous, but non-native too. Not sure what happened to it, but they took it away.

Scary looking thing - I saw the photos!

A million pounds? I would like a damn apology, clearly this kind of thing affects different people differently, if you knew someone who was afraid like that i'm sure you would understand but that's fine, we are all entitled to our opinions

So really, the big deal for you is because she's scared of worms. How horrific for Tesco or the worms not to know that...

There's a reason you're meant to wash fruit and veg before you eat it can have allsorts on it or in with it

I think if you worried about what you would find in fresh food, unprepaired all the time you wouldn't eat.

Although saying that, I watched a great programme a while back, on about the Jewish faith in Manchester and their Kosher investigators.
There was a clip where the Rabbi or whoever the guy was , was putting blackberries into a bowl of salted water, to get the insects out of them first, in order to make them Kosher. It was amazing, but freaked me out a bit, as we had been pick your owning earlier on that week and I had stuffed myself silly on the berries, whist picking them !_pale_

    Made me want to

    a. change my religion, or
    b. eat in the nearest 'kosher' restaurant for the rest of my life. lol:rotfl:

Well I think it's disgusting they should be sorted from creepy crawlies before being packed - I can understand small bugs getting through but 2 worms that is foul. If it was me I wouldn't be able to eat any dinner now I am really funny about worms and maggots etc etc... I would def make a complaint x

    your pretty :D

My other half is feeling absolutely disgusted by the fact that she just found not 1 but 2 worms in a pack of long beans from tesco, she call me screaming about how she felt as if she had worms crwling all over her (if you are arfaird of creepy crawlies, you will know exactly what i mean) :(

But then to make it worse, the worms started moving! They were alive!

I hope you released them into the wild..

D'oh ! You're right! I should have known that, I've watched enough episodes of "BORDER SECURITY"

Please disregard my last post and please do not expect any compensation for having to pick the worms back up again
