Found not 1 but 2 live worms in Tesco grocery!

My other half is feeling absolutely disgusted by the fact that she just found not 1 but 2 worms in a pack of long beans from tesco, she call me screaming about how she felt as if she had worms crwling all over her (if you are arfaird of creepy crawlies, you will know exactly what i mean) :(

But then to make it worse, the worms started moving! They were alive!

This is the first time that this has happened that I can think of but am not sure what to do next! She is feeling sick over this as she was about to cook...

Does anyone have any advise on what to do about this? Should I report them? make a formal complaint? I asked her to take pictures and a video if possible after trying to calm her down.

Wash the beans before you cook them?

Goodness me what a ridiculous fuss. You do know that worms live in the ground amongst all kinds of vegetables that we eat don't you?

    Free protein!

I wouldn't buy green beans at Tesco but only because they're usually flown in from Africa. It's not like we can't grow green beans in the UK.

As to the worms, well green beans grow in soil and soil also has worms. It's nature. Get a grip.

    See my response above

Let me ask you something, if you were afraid of say spiders and then you opened something that you are about to cook to eat only to find spiders crawling out of it, what would your reaction to that be?

  • I hate to burst your bubble OP but you can go ahead and blink the pound signs out of your eyes - you're not going to get a million pounds in compensation because there was a worm in your veg.

    Sorry about that. :)

Well I think it's disgusting they should be sorted from creepy crawlies before being packed - I can understand small bugs getting through but 2 worms that is foul. If it was me I wouldn't be able to eat any dinner now I am really funny about worms and maggots etc etc... I would def make a complaint x

Is it? By whom? Does it say that on the (inevitable) packet?

I don't think the OP is expecting millions but a little sorry gesture by Tesco would be nice x
