A million pounds? I would like a damn apology, clearly this kind of thing affects different people differently, if you knew someone who was afraid like that i'm sure you would understand but that's fine, we are all entitled to our opinions

If your partner is that afraid, maybe they should stick to canned vegetables.

I think that if fresh veg has bugs w/worms in it, then it shows it is fresh.

If it was Whole veg, then I would expext some foreign bodies in it.

If it was washed and prepared, It would be a different matter.

Just chalk it down to experience.

I didn't eat spring greens for over 20 years after my mum did them once and I ended up, hopefully my conclusion was right, eating sand. I didnt want to think that it was a bug !

Love greens now, cant get enough of em. mind you other half doesnt like the after effects. lol

OP, I think some people are being a little harsh but I also think you may be over-reacting it's nature and if you grew them yourself you'd have all manner of creepy crawlies and worms to deal with.

It's not great to find a creature in your food but the fact that your OH is scared of them is irrelevant. There were worms in your beans simple as that, they come with the territory. It's not like you found worms in some pasta or something where they couldn't naturally be.

In that context, I'd probably ask for a refund but not make too much fuss about it.

It could've been worse, she could have cooked dinner and then descovered half a caterpillar whilst eating it _pale_ like I did once and that was in cabbage from M&S! I just got a refund and got over it :) worse things happen at sea!

If you or the OP really wanted bug free beans then be prepared to pay for them. But you both wouldn't pay £5 for a pack of guaranteed bug free long beans - you'd both be on here complaining about price of bug free long beans.

For £5 a bag, I'd go through them for you myself. 100% guaranteed bug free.

  • I would take the bag + worms to your local Tesco store or phone them up. Simples.

If you would go striding into a supermarket and up to the service desk brandishing a couple of worms then I fear for your sanity, your preference for quoting a Meerkat puppet notwithstanding. :)
