Hi all, thanks for the positive vibes but don't think they could get through the walls into the exam hall as it was a bit of a flop :P
Got home and some exam results were out and I did well which cheered me up, then had a really cruel chuckle because some people got.... 1
Why pay so much money to go to uni and get 1/50 on an exam? How do you even manage to get 1/50?! Oh dear, I've worked out £82k worth of fees are coming from people who didn't even get 20% in that module of my course.
RIGHT on with the OS...Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

Thinking of you Hester.
Just popping in for a quick 'fix' as the forum will be off tomorrow. How will I cope? Oh, I know, get up early and get my fix for the day before I start my housework.
Managed to shampoo my cream living room rug today. Hadn't been done for a looooong time, so was using that brill Xanto stuff, but had to be on my hands and knees scrubbing it with a brush. Looks much better now, and I am so happy i have now done it. Mind you, still smells quite strongly of the cleaning stuff.
DD1 12th birthday today. Just made pizza for tea. Used wholemeal flour for the base this time, tasted really nice, and put loads of veg on top, so more healthy than normal too. had been feeling guilty about us all not getting enough fruit n veg, so Im putting it in everything! If the kids ask for a snack now, they get kiwi fruit or pineapple cut up, or something, and they only get a biscuit if they have a piece of fruit first.
I had got DD a couple of wee gifts that I bought reduced and she was so happy before she went out to school. Of course her face was trippin' her when she got home, because all her 'friends' were taking the mickey about how little she got. One girl got a 30" flat screen TV for her room, another got an iPhone, another got £150!!!! Peer pressure is unbelievable! Can't believe how people can bring their kids up to be so materialistic from such a young age. Or maybe that's just me. I remember when I was a teenager, for Christmas one year, my sister and I both got a rolled up poster, inside which were a pair of pants, a bottle of shampoo and I think a packet of sweets. I imagine we were pretty disappointed, but wouldn't have let on to our Mum and Dad. Lots of other kids were pretty poor too, so I suppose it was easier.
Now, when I look back on it, I realise that my parents were doing as they always did. They lived within their means.
Sorry, rant over. Phew, I neede to get that off my chest.

Evening all
Congrats to the exam passers and welcome newbies!
Another busy day in work - glad it's the weekend now! Another day of lugging stuff! This time all the outdoor pursuites kit - but it's all in the new place and in order now. Just our stationary cave to sort out now and it's all done!
Went to gym after work, and am now in my pjs. Need to decide what to have for tea.
OS wise - DW been on and emptied, kitchen surfaces and hob cleaned.
Have a fab evening all
