Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 14th Jan. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Morning all,
Bit late this morning, my internet seems to be playing up, could not get the thread started.
Off to work today, so quick message this morning, need to put a wash on tonight and dinner will be smoked mackeral salad.
Marie, Aussie is on holiday atm, I can send her a message on FB if you like?? but I dont think she wil get it for a while xx
Good news yesterday, my dd had been put in for her maths GCSE early as they thought she would be able to cope with it, she sat it last year and got the results yesterday, she passed with a 'C' I am so pleased for her, its always been a subject she has struggled with, and she needed at least a C to get into college, so she is on her way :T, she has got the option to sit it again when the others do theirs, to see if she can better it, so we will have a think about that over the next few days.
Ok better get on, have good days all, and hugs where needed xx

Morning All,
Quiet on here this morning. DW on already and pots washed that wouldn't fit. OH was extremely noisy this morning so whole house up at 6 ish.
Too dark to see but I think it's another wet one. Really must get out today but have no motivation at all to even get dressed:o
Need to go and get bread from F Foods. At 1.50 for two loaves of Hovis it is a real good saving for my bread monsters. Also milk is 1.50 for 8 pints which again is good so worth a trip there. Also need to get to tha charity shops. I have a big bag of books to donate and I live near a little town with about 8 all on either side of the high street which I love but it's a 20 min drive:(
According to the scales I have lost 5lbs this week but I will wait for the official weigh in on Monday evening when it will no doubt be down to a pound:cool:
Tea will be something quick like egg and bacon tonight as we are visiting my DD and DGS. Need to get the timing right as he is in bed for around 7.30 so will be there about 6 ish.
Smile it's the weekend:D have a good day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Have to tale me and snips for a review today docs, then rush back to school for meetings.
Were having curry tonight, got an Indian meal for for 89p out of Mr M's last night while waiting for coddy and his mate. Yes i shouldn't have bought it, but i thought its better than paying £6.49 full price!
Oops better get the boys up and about.
Have a good day all x0 -

Morning all
Dark and damp but feels mild this morning.
Was reasonably productive yesterday, did manage to get a good start on the washing, drying and ironing, basket almost empty, so will resume with that today, will also change our bed.
Managed to get a delivery slot for today so did an on-line shop for a delivery at tea-time, so have managed to gain a couple of hours which I will spend cooking/baking today. Did a quick go over with the housework, so if I get loads done today and feel I can will go over again, still taking it steady, was really shattered last night. Dinner last night was pork chops, mash, veg and gravy - enjoyed by everyone, first meal I've prepped, tasted and enjoyed for what seems like ages! Have to decide what we're having tonight, haven't planned very well so need to come up with something, not sure what. Will be making some leek and potato soup as leeks getting past their best, that will be lunch for me tomorrow and a couple for the start of next week.
I take part in the Grocery challenge will be endeavouring to try harder as very rarely come in at/below budget, so new year's resolution is to "try harder", don't seem to be doing too badly this month so will keep trying, low spend this month is mostly due to us being ill and not eating/going out to buy more food though!
Baking will be treats for pack-ups etc.
Will be heading to the scales, bank and town shortly.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning everyone - hope your hospital visit goes OK Hester.
Had my lovely bacon and eggs this morning though I fell off the LC wagon whilst away on Wed and Thurs  but have still lost weight. :j
Got physio at 9.00a.m. and then need to take the car to the garage as (again) my dipped headlights have failed. Car is under two years old and this is the fourth time. Drove up from East Midlands to Wetherby with main beam on and then a chap at the service station there suggested I use my front fog lights - that worked sort of as the light doesn't shine too far forward enough for the dark stretches of the A1. So, if you were in front of me or coming in the opposite directed and got dazzled for a short time my apologies.
Lunch will be carrot and coriander soup - need to make some more today/tomorrow - and Friday takeaway evening meal.
Not cold but wet here, much preferable to cold and snow!0
