Should be perfect. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

That's disgraceful! :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I thought of going all out one year and entering one of the bigger shows, growing really properly to win, instead of just mucking around. Then I remembered, I have a life :rotfl:Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I thought you might like to appreciate the full trauma of my attempt to grow stuff this year:
I have planted the following in tubs:
tomato plants x 8. 1 is dead, the others decided to take flight across my garden and are now fighting for survival
pepper plant x 1. It's alive, but barely as it also decided to join the Red Arrows
chilli plant x 1. See above.
I have left over from last year:
strawberry plants x a lot. I just let them run wild and they seem to be doing ok
herbs. see above.
I planted the following in a combination of little plants and seeds:
sugar snap peas
sweetcorn
courgettes
beetroot
spinach
and what is the only thing I have growing from this list? Potatoes.
I didn't even plant the blinking things.0 -

I didn't even plant the blinking things.Ahh, never grow anything you don't like to eat.
With the greatest respect, you need to learn to do things in a different way. But growing stuff is always a bit hit and miss, sometimes you get down with all the disappointments, but next year you always try again.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I know - sigh. Part of me finds it all very amusing to be honest!0

C'mon then, how about a few photos of what you've got and where it's planted. Then we might be able to help you put it back together. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Should I set up netting or similar to support the peas to climb? At the mo, they're just crawling around the floor. That is too close to slugland imo, & I don't wanna lose any peas cos they're my favourites!
you don't need support as tall as the one for beans. netting against something and /or canes or pea sticks (I've use bits cut of the beach hedge for mine) are fine . mine are only just starting to climb:kisses3: Married 29th September 20120
