I'm very happy with my tomatoes. They're all just starting to flower, and are nice robust looking plants. Last year they were so leggy. Although I'm a bit late this year, they look in great shape. :j
The grafted ones are going well - need repotting after a fortnight, and flowers coming on them all. I'll probably have tomatoes by Thursday.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
mine have no flowers. Sob.0

Hi MBE
regular lurker here popping in for some advice.
I'm growing Peas, Beans and carrots and tomatoes in tubs this year for the first time and they are all fine but I've sort of accidentally acquired a Gooseberry. I wanted rasberries and they had 3 plants for £2,99 in ALDI ages ago but you got two different Rasberries and the Gooseberry. I've never owned a gooseberry, not sure I even like them but my Dad does.
It's doing well and has some fruits on it but the crucial bit is.................how do I know when they are ripe. They are small grape sized at the mo.
As I lurk regularly should I wait for an announcement that yours are ready and hope for the best?0 -

You could do that.
They'll be rock hard at the moment. When they're ripe they'll soften up, so just give one a gentle squeeze every now and then. You should be able to tell.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
