Down to -0.5c last night. Jeez less than freezing again and it totally caught me out, sweetcorn outside in pots and nothing covered, as it didn't look like it was going to be that cold. Everything seems alright, although the sweetcorn looks a little sad, very lucky.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

6°C in the greenhouse so a little less outside. And yes, I fleeced the competition beans again. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

my tomato plants are shrivelling up - what can I do?0

I thought this was usually caused by cold (sorry to say the opposite!) esp if you haven't hardened the plant off before putting outside. If it's just the lower leaves but there's some healthy top growth then it shouldn't be terminal.
You could be right, I'm no expert! If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -

We need much more information to be abe to help. Are they inside, outside, or in a greenhouse? How big are they? What size pot are they in? Has it been cold where you are? Hot? Windy? Can you post pictures?
Please tell us everything you can, and we'll try to help.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

No, I haven't got any. I can't find much more information on it. I suspect that it's not as good as it looks, and I think I'd prefer something more traditional, such as a Charles Ross.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I have a red onion in my garden that overwintered (I didn't know it was there) which is about to flower. It doesn't seem very big so if I let it flower, will I be able to collect the seeds to use next year or is that not a good idea?0

sorry! Ok, so some are inside on a sunny windowsill and some are outside in a poly-greenhouse. I'll post photos if I can but am hobbling around with a broken foot at the moment!
They are in large pots, have been fed with proper tomato stuff, but they're going brown around the edges and one has curled up almost under itself - the best way I can describe it is like a dead spider does, folds up!
I'm not much use am I? To be fair, plants come to see me when they want to die, so I shouldn't be surprised.0
