I would like to bid you a warm welcome to shed-painting day. I am awaiting the attendance of a keen and willing (as long as I feed and water him) assistant. I have gone over the outside of it with a brush, to remove surface dirt and cobwebs.
I'm going to lift out the two fence panels down the side of the shed and paint them too, using the opportunity to do the side of the shed whilst they're out and there's a bit of space. Not looking forward to doing the back, mind. It's a bit of a squeeze in there, and some bu99er's put spikes all over the top of the fence. :rotfl:
be carefull f its like here,im painting my back wall and its blowing like the wizard of oz- i need to go up step ladders now and daring myself as dont fancy getting blown across garden wth a pot of paint:eek::rotfl:***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -

I don't like painting. Especially round the back in a gap not much bigger than me.
But it was nice to lift out the two fence panels at the side of the shed and get them done too.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

That flower's about 2mm across. Still can't quite believe I spotted it. I'd like more of this, I think. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Should the 2mm read 2cm? Or that twig must be about half a mm.0 -

Definitely 2mm. Maybe 3 at a push. It's the tiniest flower I've ever seen.

mrbadexample wrote: »Oooh, that reminds me. While I was taking up the turf I spotted the tiniest of tiny blue flowers, at the edge of the grass by one of the path slabs. It really surprised me to see it there, as I cut the lawn quite short only yesterday. Somehow it was clinging to existence in a manky, weedy old lawn. I thought it was beautiful. So I've tried to save it........
That's where it likes to be - short turf or bare soil is its home ground. If you've put it in a pot of nice rich compost, it will probably not do well 'cos it likes poor soils with not too many nutrients, I think. If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -

Oh flippin' 'eck, that's a good point.
I'll rethink its accommodation tomorrow. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
You lot have been busy...
I've been pottering in the garden. Preparing for planting out the beans and peas. I have also planted some peppers, as I said late last year I'd try & grow some. I've only put 4 seeds in though. I'm about to plant some spring onions.
The "normal" onions are coming along. The carrots & beetroot seem to be doing very little at the moment. I'm wondering how long before I should start worrying (note, I am actualy worrying already - I'm wondering how valid that concern is though).
I'm another wanting some rain. Just to sort out the garden somewhat, the lawns, and the bowling greens...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
i've just been deweeding and prepping. mange tout trays are starting to resemble day of the triffids so i'm trying to work out the best time to get them out in the ground and where to put them. I'm thinking a tent style set up with pea/bean netting on it.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

Are you a bowler then? Our green looks like it normally does in late June/July/August but it bowls well too. No heaving them up.0
