Sorry.
Been a bit incapacitated through sunburnt feet.
Got tomatoes dropping off plants all over the place - must do something about it now I'm back to normal. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Is that genuine? Where did you get that? Must be really painful.0 -

Absolutely genuine, to my shame. Did it snorkelling off Fiji on my last day, even despite the sun cream (obviously didn't reapply often enough having spent so much time in the water).
So, I burnt the backs of my ankles & the tops of my feet (walking about at lunchtime). Then I had to get on the flight to LA. During the flight my feet swelled up, stretching the burnt skin. I could only just get my boots on. Then tramped across LA, blistering all the skin as I went. By the time I got to Heathrow I was hobbling about in socks. Couldn't go back to work until Thursday. I'm just about ok now, but still some pain from the top of my left foot. Worst thing I've ever done. Snorkelling was great though. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Harvested loads of tomatoes and chillies today. Still more to come if the weather holds. Grafted tomatoes noticeably good. Roasting in the oven as I type, to make a sauce for pasta or whatever else I fancy.
Harvested 8 massive potatoes (1lb - 1lb 10oz) and a few smaller ones. Plus some container beetroot that looks pretty good considering I've all but ignored it for months. Still got loads of carrots, swede (although that's probably been quite well munched by now), onions that I should lift and it'll be parsnip weather before long. Leeks seem to be coming on reasonably well too.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Picked the last 3 orange Toms today and about 20 green ones and cleared the growbags out ready to move my Christmas Charlottes inside. Got 10 Lettuce in the greenhouse in flower buckets (got over 20 from Lidl, well my Mrs did
) so it's Toms in them next year.
Been impatient with the Parsnips and started eating them and there's still some Lettuce (Little Gem) alongside them.
For the first time for about 25 years I've put 2 lots of Winter Cabbage and some Spring Cabbage in this year and they look like some could be ready in a month or 6 weeks.0 -
I really should plant some winter veg!
I've cut down half my tom plants. I have a large pot full of green toms ripening.
Because of the clocks changing, I find it very difficult to give the remaining in greenhouse toms the attention they deserve!
I also still have those 4 pepper plants slowly going at it in the greenhouse. There has been no appreciable increase in the size of the plant or peppers. I'm wondering whether I should just harvest them now? Or bring the plants inside?
My last lettuce I planted isn't growing at all. Some very small shoots in the tub, & the tub is indoors, but they're not growing now!:(It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
