If they had beaten France it would have only prolonged the agony until next Saturday. Got to say it was a lot of money to spend to watch that first half. You'd have been better off staying in Wellington....(Wales ) (England :wall:)
Ahh...still whistling. Just more quietly.
England were tragically poor throughout the whole tournament; their discipline on and off the field was atrocious. Wales, on the other hand, were the stand-out team of the northern hemisphere, by quite a distance (notwithstanding Ireland's win over Australia). I thought Ireland would nick it in the quarters but wrong again...good job I gave the bookies a miss. Wales should be in the final - Alain Rolland has a lot to answer for.
I came away from the game against Scotland disappointed, because despite the win we played poorly. I came away from the game against France disappointed because we played poorly and lost. :wall:
All Blacks v Argentina was an enjoyable encounter though - brilliant atmosphere at Eden Park. I even bought a little All Blacks flag to wave. :rotfl:
Apart from 160 minutes of doom & gloom, I had a wicked time. :j Dented my credit card a bit severely though.
Don't fly Air New Zealand: no seats and no hostesses with coffee, so I got out at 15000ft:
Nice view.
Fiji was amazing too - apart from getting a bit sunburnt snorkelling with the fishies off the reefs.
On a gardening note, the good weather here seems to have extended my tomato and chilli season nicely. Have got some ripe lemon drops, which should be interesting. Bit too tired to do much at the moment though, so I'll update further in due course.
Thanks for looking after everything lemon. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
That sounds about right Fay, I've grown them for 20 years and only in a stonking hot sunny summer have I managed 6 or7.
Thanks Annie, I think I did have about 6 on some of the plants but they tended to be quite small peppers. I won't grow so many chilli or pepper plants next year but I did enjoy growing them and they all tasted great. We eat lots of peppers so thought it would be a good money saver for us but we didn't grow enough really...and when we wanted/needed them!0 -
Mr MBE, you have redeemed yourself by saying nice things about Wales. Therefore I will reinstate you as my gardening guru. What shall I do with my chillis?!!0

Yup. Shocking for them. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Glad you had a good one!:)
I picked & froze my carrots this weekend - saving them for christmas dinner (all the ones planted out in april got eaten, so I planted around 20 in some tubs. Came up really well. I was well pleased with them!
Ripped up the beans plants & put the canes away for this year.
Tomatoes everywhere still - plenty of green ones still on the plants, so hoping they'll last a bit longer.
Really wondering what to do with my peppers. Should I be bringing them inside now? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I've always had a soft spot for Wales, although I am obliged as an Englishman to take the mick out of their rugby as often as opportunity presents. Coz when they beat us we get it back tenfold.
If the chillies are red, I think you should be eating them.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
right-o. Anyone got a recipe for chilli jam?0
