If Mr MBE is anti-Wales, I will never speak to him again, nor ask questions about my tomatoes. Mr Djohn - will you be my new gardening guru please?0

Ha Ha Ha. Not about Wales as such but about the Welsh rugby team, although that is almost as bad. But he spent a lot of money to get to New Zealand for just one game so he's been partly punished. I'll answer any questions I can certainly but we have to be careful because this is his thread and he's left his deputy (lemonjelly) in charge so she could be reporting to him on his return. And he could be in a bit of a foul mood when he gets back. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:but who cares. He should have followed a decent team.:p0 -
Go Wales!
In the meantime, my chillis are very little and red, and don't appear to be growing in length. What shall I do?0 -
I'm afraid you'll have to look elswhere for an answer to that, as I said 4 posts above, I know nothing about peppers. Never grown them although I might try them next year. Sweet peppers that is. Not partial to things that burn your tongue.... MBE probably knows plenty about the little hot ones though. That's if he cares to show his face around here. He just might stay where he is...lol0

I've been on leave from work last week and this so took the opportunity yesterday to clear and clean the greenhouse out...think my plants had come to the end anyway, although I have kept three of my pretty in purple plants as I might try to overwinter one or two as they were such good producers. I took some pics:
Lots of pretty in purple chillis and quite a few early jalapenos left too. I have already frozen a large bag of each and used lots too-the early jalapenos from the real seed co have been really good and I could have treated them better too I think!
Peppers have also done ok although I have been disappointed with the low number of fruits on each plant-probably 3-4 per plant. Does anyone know what I should have been getting? I emptied all the pots out yesteday and although the peppers were in flower buckets some of them were pot bound so perhaps a bigger pot will be in order next year to try!
Today I am planning on roasting the tomoatoes and peppers and making pasta sauce from them. Yummmmmm. Thanks for all the advice guys-especially when I had my armpit moment with the tomatoes, they produced much better once I did a serious amount of pruning he he0 -
MrBE should be back tomorrow-ish, so thought I'd pop in & have a quick tidy up!
There's been a fair amount of rain around us to keep everything watered.
Wondering if john will suddenly go onto MrBE's ignore list...:DIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Well, if you're going to have a tidy up perhaps you could weed between the slabs for him...LMAO
Sorry, don't know what happened there.0 -
Well, if you're going to have a tidy up perhaps you could weed between the slabs for him...LMAO I would have thought he would have stayed at least past Saturday and got two matches in although unknown to him the second one wouldn't have included England. But he should have known...:D He might watch Wales instead if he had a ticket for this semi final. Oooh what an unexpected bonus to be able to watch Wales instead.:cool:0

Wales were well and truly robbed.0

That sounds about right Fay, I've grown them for 20 years and only in a stonking hot sunny summer have I managed 6 or7.
I've decided not to bother next year as I need to focus more on growing what's expensive to buy rather than I like growing. Same with chillies except I will continue to grow the PiP they take up so little room and produce a lot for their size.0
