I have now cancelled the transfer.

I had a talk with Ovo today and have now decided to go ahead with the transfer and should be complete by 15.3

Very sad to leave SP as found them brilliant but with me its all down to cost. No doubt like a lot of us.

Rang SP this evening to move to OES12 to be told that, as of yesterday, it was no longer available.

Had the same today so it looks like it has been withdrawn, now the hunt begins for another supplier

Still showing as available on their website (see my previous post)

There's a link there to apply online (as you are supposed to do for this tariff)
If you are a current dual fuel customer not currently with SP (see previous posts for reasons why), it even gives you a quote.

Edit: Just seen there's also a £40 cashback from SP if you can sign up for this online for dual fuel (£20 for single fuel)

I've just done it via their website (just before doing my previous post) - got to the stage of getting the quote and only exited once it wanted details of the exact address as part of the acceptance to the price quoted!

Have you met the criteria I mentioned? i.e. a current dual fuel customer not with SP.
(Sign up online doesn't work for OES12 otherwise)

    Edit: Yes still working :)
Check when you go to the link in my earlier post it says at the top right of the screen "ARE YOU AN EXISTING CUSTOMER?"
It should do, but if not click it, exit the page and try again.

  • I have just phoned SP this morning having been on the On Line Fixed Price Feb 2011 deal. Told them I want to change to Online Energy Saver 12 (confirmed to next March). Was told I would have to change plan today as they could not guarantee it would still be available at the end of the month. I agreed, and was informed it would show up on my onlne account on Monday. Clearly is still available..

Limited places left apparently and I think they are trying to keep them for new customers so you have to be determined

The tariff is not limited to any specific number of customers afaik

The issue relates to their website (which the CS advisors seem to use too, even if in a different form). It does not show existing customers or those not on a dual fuel supply currently OES 12, but it's actually available to anyone on a credit meter.
You can gave it for electric only (even if you have gas from another supplier) , or electic and gas. (but not gas only)

Was thinking of trying to change to Sign on Line 12 as well but have been putting it off. From what I can see the Sign on Line 12 main conditions are the same as the newer Discounted Energy product I.e. guaranteed to be 2% below the standard tariff. Since the new product is much more expensive is must mean that the Sign on Line 12 currently has a much higher discount.

    So a couple of questions.

How likely are they to bring the old tariff’s discount in line with the newer package?
If they do increase the price of the Sign on Line 12 are you still committed to the 12 month contract or can you decline the increase and exit without incurring the early termination penalties.
