There's no need for it, some coppers have an really unnecessary extremely over-inflated sense of self-importance.
In my experience i totally agree. Coppers and Doormen seems to have the same "i am god" attitude and immediately try and be rude, confrontational and agressive to you. - its as if they are trying to provoke a reaction from you. When I was a kid I actually went to school with a lad whose dad was a copper and he was just the same. In fact the kid ended up with the same arrogant attitude as the dad and rather than become a copper he became a doorman!
Thats not saying all coppers and doormen are like that, i do know a few nice ones - who actually agree with me about some of the colleagues!
I remember getting stopped 2 or 3 times when I was younger, simply because I was a young bloke driving home from town on a Saturday night. Easy target. I remember one reason a copper gave for pulling me over at 2am was "we noticed you were driving very cauciously". What did he expect? Id noticed him following me for the last 1 mile, so I was hardly likely to be driving like a nutter! They used to spend ages examining my car and breathlising me, then appeared to be very disapointed when they realised that I had been telling the truth when I said I hadnt been drinking and the car was perfectly safe.0 -
I would not describe a car with a damaged wing and a broken rear wiper as " mint ".
You obviously knew that the wiper was faulty, but did nothing about it, the police stopped you, serves you right.
Having no money to keep a car on the road is not an excuse.0 -

Well it was mint until a lorry hit it a few weeks ago, and it is going to be fixed in a weeks time. I have already spent money getting the new wing and getting it sprayed.
I don't have a lot of money and I have spent a lot of the wing, so when the wiper failed I didn't have anything much left.
I have enough money to run the car. Maybe I should cancel my insurance to make it a bit cheaper for myself? Or is a rear wiper really that important that I should feel very guilty for not getting it fixed immediately.
I surprised by the people that obviously have the money to get things fixed straight away and not have to worry. It must be very nice to be able to do that.
If it had been my tyres or brake pads that needed changing I simply would have parked the car up until I could afford it. I'm not a dangerous person or driver and I still do not see how a floppy wiper is that bad.9/70lbs to lose0 -
Geegee8, you may have tried this already, but can the wiper be pulled back up so it's on the rear window again?
If yes, can you see the small nut that holds it? It may have a plastic cover over it that should pop off.
Make sure thats as tight as you can get it.0 -

Yes, it will swivel 360 degree if pushed.. I'll go and have another look at it now and see if it will tighten up any more.. thank you9/70lbs to lose0 -

It's not about the coppers doing their jobs, it's about some of their attitudes whilst doing it.0

I have never had a problem with the attitude of any police officer, they have always been courteous and helpful in my experience, we would be in a real mess without them.0 -

You've been lucky then. I'm glad you've never had to put up with an arrogant copper. But that doesn't mean they don't exist.0
